Howa Mini Action Trigger replacement

Does anyone here happen to know if the Howa Mini action ( 6.5 Grendel, 223, 204, 7.62X39) takes the same trigger at the larger Howa Short action with the HACT trigger?

Its not bad for a factory trigger but I was looking for something a little lighter. After running, Anschutz, Bix and Andy, Xtreme, CG, Jewel... You get to become a trigger snob... hard to go backwards.

Appreciate your help.

Russel

Not for sure but I think it's a Boyd's. I bought the AT-1 for mine and it has the same color. For the money you can't beat them. RT, I bet with that X Caliber barrel that thing will shoot. With just the factory barrel mine shoots pretty good. Also, wish I had a suppressor for mine.

@Rtheurer

Just curious, what didn't you like about that stock?
Would like to see the Pro Varmint your replacing it with. Could you post a picture of it.

Just bought a 1500 Mini-Action in 223-REM.
Pretty impressed with it mechanically (haven't shot it yet).
Might be interested in re-stocking it as well, is why the interest in what your doing.

Also, what tri-pod is that in your picture?
How do you like it?
(can PM, call, or text me if you prefer)

Sorry about the 10,000 questions... lol
Thanks bro....

These are cool little actions with some great features. Always wanted a walk around. 22PPC. May just have to do it. What tennon thread do they run?

Thanks guy,

Paul

look at the distance from the grip to the trigger. Unless you finger is that of the 80's Movie car actor E.T. its an awful long reach with normal size hands. I have become very used to the vertical grip as well and the thumbhole is any thing from vertical. Seemed like the action was sitting in the action too far forward.
Do realize this all jut personal fit to me. The rest of it was great and for the money the stock was well made and finished.

@Rtheurer

Oh...wow... that is a long ways to reach.
The pro varmint will definitely be bag & tracking friendlier (which appeals to me more).

Tell us more....lol.... Want to hear on the tripod.

Good Stuff .... Thanks

I had a boyds thumbhole as well, like you I hated the trigger reach and sold it. The pro varmint is much better.

Donovan.
It was made by my Friends who Own Phoenix Tactical. They disbanded or something after I lost track of them after they moved from my area.
Its OK but there seems to be one thing I don't like about it. It does not tilt left and right. So unless your on flat ground or cant adjust the legs to make it flat you may have to shoot at a cant.
The Legs telescope and have Detents, If I get it dirty the Legs jamb up. Quite a bugger to get the crap out of there. It Swivels great, Locks up Great, and tilts forward and Backward Great.
Update: just did a Search.. Looks like they are still making them.

Rtheurer, Did you replace the plastic bottom metal,well plastic bottom anyway? I'm getting ready to order a bottom metal for mine and do the magazine where it will fit flush instead of sticking out. I bought the AT-1 stock but I want to put pillars in and bed it. It shoots pretty good now but I believe that will help some.
