I have a 36T as well on my ARA set up, no complaints at all, bought used but in good shape, functions as it should. Replaced a Sightron 36x in my case.
I have an early XR 36 & like it a lot. I've used it on a rfbr gun & its now on my short range cf rig. Its been rock solid since day 1. Its crystal clear & would buy another if needed for either discipline. I'd stick with a 36x for 50yds.
I had a 36xr it was very good scope light, clicks a little soft, but the clarity was great and the side parallax adjust was great. Natchez will run a sale soon for 329.99 or abouts for the 36xr
I never had a problem getting parallax out with mine at 50 yds. I'd say that if Natchez does have a sale on them for below $350 as was posted above I'd not buy any other. Great scopes!
I can honestly say I've never missed a shot due to the XR, its always been me missing a condition change.
I've contemplated spending north of $1000 on something "better" but until I see that's the case I'm happy with the XR.
I've have both style Weavers & never had a problem with one. The side focus is nice.
I have a XR 46 with fine cross hairs from Natchez and am satisfied. Eye relief and position is not as critical as the BigSky 36X. First one had an oil bubble and Weaver tech support was super. The fine cross hairs are FINE, I would get the dot if I was doing it again. They are 30mm tube.
Everybody's eyes are different, look through as many different brands as possible.
