What are your opinions of bergera rifles.
I really liked the looks and the price of the B14 HMR. So I bought one. Did extensive load development and couldn’t find a load that shot less than about 1 MOA. I sold the rifle. However, lots of people are satisfied with these rifles.
That's a bummer. Did you reach out to the factory?
My HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor consistently shoots around .6MOA, both with cheap Hornady and handloads.
People seem to give good reviews on reddit, my only issue is the lack of remage offerings for the system. Similar price range rifles like RPR or Tikka T3 CTR have after market barrel options. So unless Criterion decides to starts cambering for Bergara coned bolt face then I would not recommend it to a friend wanting to get into the sport unless they made it clear they will never burn through the barrel.
Sure but if you are buying a Bergara instead of a full custom rifle then you are likely budget conscious and a blank + a smith install is likely to cost more than a remage from Criterion. They can put a barrel on it anytime- maybe not in their living room- but a gunsmith can still change one just like any other.

The B14 HMR is the most popular one I see people purchasing and it is around 1K, similar to a Tikka CTR or a Ruger Precision Rifle. Is bergara considered in the same budget class as other entry level rifles? I thought they were 2x the cost of budget minded stuff.

It certainly is not entry level but that 2 or 300 $ difference between a button rifled prefit and a cut rifled shouldered barrel by a smith may still influence the decision to buy the rifle or not to buy the rifle.Oh ok. Ive seen all these in gun shops and they looked to be $1400+. I thought we were talking about just regular rifles where the bergara is like $1000 and a savage or remmy is @$500-600

I have been seeing a lot of people on reddit showing off their new Bergara rifles so it wouldn't surprise me if someone started offering prefits for it but ATM I don't think anyone has them.
A bud who owns a shop handed me a 6.5 creed, scope, rings and a couple boxes of ammo. A couple shots got it to the bull. The next 3 went in the same hole with factory Hornaday ammo. Impressed, very smooth action as well. What are your opinions of bergera rifles.
Just out of curiosity.... what was the distance? What scope? And what type of rest? I’m assuming it was the ridge model and not the hunter b14A bud who owns a shop handed me a 6.5 creed, scope, rings and a couple boxes of ammo. A couple shots got it to the bull. Only 100 yd sight in stuff, scope was a upper end Leupold, not sure of the model as I'm not a Leupold guy but it tracked and was very clear. Didn't look at the model on the Beraga either but it wasn't a low end rifle. I can find out as another guy wanted it worse than he did. The rest was $125 special off of Bullets.com when they were closing shop. Rear bag is a Protector. Not fancy equipment but decent quality.Just out of curiosity.... what was the distance? What scope?
