Is Sharp Shooter Supply still in bussiness?

Do you know who produces the Low Profile Benchrest stock for SSS? Or maybe another co. that makes a similar stock for a Savage mod12 short action? I called my credit card co. today to cancel the order.
You can purchase an F Class stock direct from Savage $350 ish have your serial number handy, dual port three screw Gray Laminate are in stock other s may be special ordered.

Savage told me they could not get me a fclass stock for my 12 LRP with drop box mag and 4.41 screw spacing. I called just a few days ago.

Call mcmillan and go thru the wait. Its worth it- youll get it when they say, you wont have to get mad when they dont answer, it will be right, no lawyers involved or hassle of canceling charges, and youll get it on top of all that.

The people who answer the phone are not gunsmiths. They are just looking at a computer screen. They won't show an F-class stock for an LRP just because one is a two hole setup and the other is three hole. We know it will fit, you just don't use the middle screw.
I called them last week to check their price because I was selling one and wanted to know how much to ask. They quoted $387 plus shipping (probably about $20).
I have another one that is currently on a 20 Vartarg. It is listed in the classifieds (photo attached). If that doesn't sell, I may part it out.

I did not know the 3 hole setup would work on a 2 hole 4.41 setup. I would have ordered it and done a permanent single shot conversion. Ugh... oh well i am making some fancy aluminum bag riders for the boyds front and rear, pillars, and bedding it.

Would the same configuration apply to their Benchrest stock?

Not familiar, but probably.

All Mod10 and 12 receivers are the same external diameter. Only meaningful difference is screw spacing. Most SA center feeds are 4.41", but the Benchrest may come with "Palma" spacing, which is 3.27". Some later Mod LRPV have this spacing.

I have two Bench Rest guns, both with Sharp Shooters Supply stocks. Light gun is a Dog Tracker and the Heavy gun is a standard Bench Rest. I am MORE than happy with them and even with an increase in cost ($359?) I think they are a bargain. And, I didn't have to wait long to get them!

Placed an order for a LVT stock back in 7/20/17. STILL waiting (was quoted "about 12 weeks" for a lead time). I got politely ugly with them around 7/18 asking to either get me my stock within the next 30 days or please refund my money so I can seek an alternate stock. I was given a huge runaround email reply with a push for my stock to be changed to "urgent" status. Still waiting. I don't give a crap how good this stock is quality wise, SSS business protocol/ lies is just total BS.

I heard this somewhere that Fred doesn't make those stocks himself a 3rd party is involved. Perhaps someone could expand if they know for sure.

Wonderful. Now i'm potentially being strung along indefinitely by a 3rd party sub contract situation.

I don't know about now, but years past, when SSS used *fiberglass* stocks from Stockade Gun Stocks (Chadron, NE) they eventually ended up at loggerheads. After several rounds of B.S., Lisa @ SSS told me to call Stockade, because "she didn't know why it wasn't ready yet". When I called the guy @ Stockade, he was pretty entertained by that, and said that he'd never even started my order (despite her earlier claims that it was 'almost ready to paint') because SSS was deeply delinquent in paying him for stocks that had been shipped. So I had to start my order over with him, and surprise surprise, it was completed and shipped in a timely fashion.

About six months later was when SSS suddenly started making all their own *laminate* stocks... which looked like direct rip-off copies of the Stockade models at the time. Guess someone figured getting a stock duplicator and doing it themselves was cheaper than paying a third party for stuff already delivered.
