Looks Good —nice jobI am finishing up with my second stock. Took it out of the workshop for some pictures in the sun light. This one has alot better figure to the wood. Still have some work to do but making progress on it. Hope you guys enjoy the photosView attachment 1066713View attachment 1066716

Looking at many different stocks to decide how to do the next one I see lots of them angle down following the tang area of the action. I am gonna try that to. I never saw one quite like this one cstuck did but I like it alsoI’ll second that. Nice job!
I’m liking the cut you make at the rear of the action. That area on my stocks has been bothering my eye, of late. It looks “blocky”? for lack of a better word. The only reason I like it is that it traps the web of my hand for good trigger alignment.
Clamps are off and it didn't fall apart. Off to a good start so far.
If that block is 4’ long, you might get two stocks out of it. How wide is it?
Hah!OK! That’s good for one. Let’s see the “inner sculpture” work his magic.![]()
I got a couple like that. They cut good at the slow speed I’m running them at(600 I think).
Not yet. I don't have anyone close by with any decent machines and I don't have the time to chip away at it with purely hand tools. I went to a local "maker space" and may join it for a few months. I'll keep you posted for sure.Progress? No pressure, just asking.![]()
The router drawer looks like it is holding a fair amount of weight
I don’t wanna hijack josh’s Thread but if you go back in it you’ll see that discussed —I am thinking of trying this out with some cheap, but decent wood from Lowes/Home Depot. Do you think some of their dimensional boards would be ok? I have some 1x6s left over from my cabinet making days.
