Swapping barrels on Savage 12 VLP.

AD8AB11A-3958-496E-ACCB-70F9A613377B.jpeg i have a VLP in 243 that is a hammer! 100 yards five shot groups are +/- 1/2”, and three shots have been under 1/4”. I like the rifle, thought about getting a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel, but hesitate on removing my barrel and screwing up my groups. My first Savage.
 
Thanks for the advice guys. I’ve heard of turning savages into multi caliber rifles due to the ease of swapping barrels.
I’ll stick to the old slogan “ if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”!

Pick up another savage action and barrel it up to a different caliber. You can pick up LA .270 & 30-06 Savages cheap. They work good for Creedmoors or any heavy for caliber 6.5 bullets you want to seat out close to the lands!
 
Ditto on start a project rifle...Find the cheapest oldie you can find...Add new stock, trigger, barrel & sights...Go Have Fun...Mike in Ct
