This is fully prepped, 2x fired, lapua 243 brass sorted by case length to .001”- lots of variation. The measurements from case base to datum, however, are all within.001”. The longest of these measure .050” less than Lyman’s recommended trim to length. Was planning on loading to CBTO... ok to proceed? I don’t know what else I would do in an attempt to load consistent rounds?

I would trim all to the same length and then sort by weight. How is the neck thickness?

Next time you buy brass... measure your chamber for brass length... dont go by the books those numbers are wrong for brass lengths

Load ‘em up and choot’em. You’ll never see the difference unless your rifle shoots into .2MOA or less.

I bought the brass new... from Lapua.... only been fired in my gun...twice, now

Primers removed, tumbled, primer pockets cleaned, necks chamfered, FL resized (honed neck forster w/o expander ball), re-tumbled, case mouths deburred, expander mandrel...

Load them all to CBTO? Can I run a reliable seating depth test with these cases? My goal is consistently shooting 1 MOA at 500 yds for now....

What rifle do you use? .243 should be able to pretty easily shoot moa at 500 without going to any great lengths.

More trigger time...I absolutely agree. Wasted....couldn’t be further from the truth. Besides, gotta prep to load, then load to shoot. I’m enjoying practicing and learning and improving so much that I don’t believe I’ll ever buy factory ammo again. Wasted? No sir.
