First Few Shots start at Upper Right

I usually shoot 2 different rifles at the range - on the 100 yd range I use a Ruger 223 with a 6x18 scope and on the 50 yd range I shoot a Savage 22LR with a 6x24 scope. For some reason, when I first start to shoot, the 1st 5-10 rounds hit in the upper right of the target and seem to "walk" toward the center. I have tried several different types of ammo - Winchester, Wolf Match and Remington and all seem to do the same. Maybe it's something I'm doing? It's no big deal but I dislike wasting the 1st 10 shots. I also take care of the rifles, I clean them after each use and make sure they are handled safely so the scope isn't bumped.
Any ideas?

Had similar problem with Savage LRPV, re-torqued stock screws, problem solved. Worth a try, use a torque wrench.

You might try leaving them fouled and not clean as some rifles take a bit of fouling after cleaning to
start shooting....especially 22LR. I will shoot a thousand rounds out of my 22LR before I clean the barrel
as it seems to take about 20 rounds or so to start grouping again after a good cleaning.;):)

Afterthought:

If you continue your cleaning regimen as you described, make sure you have any residual oils or solvents out of the barrels before you send rounds.
