What distance is the load development target meant to be used? Are there different sizes for different distances?
ShotMarker arrived last week. Yesterday we built a target frame with a corplas center that we can use at home and also fits the carriers at our local range for 200/300 yard XTC. We only have a 60yd "range" at the shop.
Set up and calibration was easy and straightforward. Turn on the sensor / access points and they nearly instantaneously connect to each other and the iPad.
Per the manual, we entered the spacing of the microphone bases into the calibration section and proceeded to shoot 2 sighters on the calibration target. Then moved the shots "slightly" (about 3mm up and 5mm left) and tapped complete on the calibration.
I then shot three 10 shot strings rapid sitting with NO SHOTS MISSED! Actual groups checked against paper were spot on.
Looking forward to testing at the range today and seeing how the rapids get counted among other shooters.
Other well well thought out features not mentioned before:
The bases are color coded.
The cords connect to corresponding color coded jacks.
The magnets in the bases are polarized...the microphones won't attach other than the correct orientation.
Audio cords are gold plated and very high quality, 6 cords included for various microphone spacing.
Very impressed so far!
That surely makes it easy then.Calibrate the frame once, it's gtg at any distance and location.
Was the dropped shot in the group? Was it dropped while other targets were firing?Update:
We placed our ShotMarker target between two other electronic targets at our 300 yard range for XTC league. We fired one rapid string at 200 with no issues. We also fired 4 rapid strings at 300...and on the last string it dropped one shot.
The other targets performance:
(Picture 3 targets away from any other targets with mine in the middle. The target to the left was at the left end of the range and the target to my right had a two target gap before the next active target)
the left one dropped 2 shots on one string at 200. This was when we were not shooting on ours.
the left one dropped 1 shot on one string at 300 when all three of us fired at the same time
the right one dropped 2 shots in the last string at 300, again while we all fired rapid.
Feedback from other shooters:
The target was easier to set up.
The user screen and interface was thought to be friendlier
Con:
Hoped to wring it out and not miss ANY shots.
Also in the case of shooting 2 rapid strings after 2 sighters, not sure if there is an EZ way to handle the sighters.
(eliminating the sighter for the second string without going to the menu or recording them. We ended up choosing "unlimited" sighters, pressing "go for record" after two. Then press "go for record" prior to the next 10 shot string)

At this point we have 1 lost shot out of 90 shots fired rapid.

This result matches the simulation for 3 targets in use. Sound travels slowly and shots can interfere with each other, it's very predictable.
I'm working on a true solution to this problem. Need some time.
Adam,
What is the current wait time for delivery of a ShotMarker?
Thx!

What size is the bracket that holds the sensor?Looks like September for new orders, without reservations. Should be through the reservation list by mid August and then on to filling orders in the order they have been coming in.
2.5 x 2.5 x 0.5 "What size is the bracket that holds the sensor?
Thanks2.5 x 2.5 x 0.5 "

I took the assembly to the 300 yard range and hung it on the existing target frame. ...............snip.............
