Shooting house

I'm embarrassed to say how long I've been doing this but it's finally almost done.

It's an attached shooting room to my shop. I'll have two benches inside with plans fir a couple more outside. I can shoot to 525 from here but most of my shooting is 100-200.

I poured the pad a few years ago and have killed deer out to 500 a few times, from a bench.

It'll be heated and cooled very soon. I use to shoot from my shop a lot but got really tired of trying to cool the earth from my back door.

Anyway, getting excited at this point. I hope to shoot year round again. Good place to practice and test builds and products.

Won't you still be "cooling the earth" when you open the windows to shoot?

I do envy you, though. Although I have 3 acres, the max I can shoot entirely on my own property is 85 yards due to the lay of the land.

Toooo coool Mike. When I did mine I tried out every flavor of window and settled on the same thing you went with. The width will accept a spotting scope or a Labradar and will let you see all the flags.

VERY sweet.

congrats!

Very nice! Four years ago I built a shooting house in my barn which would theoretically allow me to shoot to 300 yards. Thus far it's only 100 yard capable as I haven't had time to clear some scrap trees and build a berm.

Because the shop and the shooting room have a man door between them. Mike had to open a garage door to shoot out of his shop.

He’ll be able to mount a little window unit or something out in that shooting room and lose zero out of the shop when he shoots.

Looking good, which window will i be beating you from? Lol I will drop off that blank sometime this week and come check it out.
NEITHER...but you already knew that!!! Lol!

I know...Here we go!

You will beat me soon Grasshopper!!

Ya gotta love it!!
While in Montana a couple of weeks ago on my kids property the guy up above him has steel targets set up at 1760 and 2000 yards across the canyon from his back yard. I saw them personally. My kid says you can hear it when it hits (Ka Boom- Ding )over and over must be a big caliber ''
I'm jealous

Thats something only in my dreams. I dont have space or the privacy to do that. I just recently lost my shooting spot. The property sold and the new owner doesnt want me shooting there. LDS

Save yourself a trip. Here is a picture from a group match at BGSC. 200 yards.

I was so thrilled that I shot a smiley face on the sighter.

Lapua brass, Fed GM primer, enough N120 to make 2850, Hillbilly 118 7-3/4 ogive jammed 15 thou.

I shouldn’t have sold that rifle. But, I’m not shooting much and have a daughter in grad school.

Best shooting rifle that I’ve ever owned. I still have two 30 Major reamers. Going to build another one day.
