2018 SIERRA CUP 600yd Fclass/prone ENTRY.... RESULTS

Enjoyable, superbly run match!

Joe and his crew did a fantastic job to make it fun for all of us, all weekend long. Admirably, he was able to take a few minutes now and then, try to put aside all that he had going on, and execute his amazing shooting skills. Well done, Joe; and Thank You and all those who helped.

We were treated to some amazing shooting. And while it is true that the winds were relatively light, they could still trick you if you got too confident, as is the trade mark of the BRRC range.

We saw the best in each category, and if we watched and listened closely, we could learn a lot; I know I did. Congratulations to all the winners; as well as to some who remained somewhat in the shadows – like my friend and “Bald Owls” team partner Craig, who scored five perfect 200’s during the weekend.

And then there was Lou. I don’t care if he used 308-Specials or 223-Mag(nificents) – dropping a single point out of a 1000, shooting F-T/R, is mind boggling.

Truly Among Friends.
Since we don’t live far away from the range, my wife Judy decided to stay home, but made me promise that I would call her every once in a while to let her know how I was doing. The truth was, as I told her when I called the second time late Saturday morning, there are so many people checking and keeping an eye on me that she has nothing to worry about (excluding my shooting performance). I don’t want to risk missing someone, so I won’t name anyone – but I want to sincerely thank each everyone who made my weekend safe and worry-free.

Alex, it was a pleasure seeing you, scoring and pulling your target and visiting with you. I appreciate you continuing to come to the matches and participating! And you shot very well yourself!

Joe,

Thank you for putting on a great match! You and all the volunteers put on a great match and made us all feel welcome. Thank you to all the sponsors as well for all they do for our sport.

It was great to see old friends and make new ones. It was my pleasure to shoot with a great bunch of folks. Todd and the Texas boys kept me laughing and it was great to meet and shoot with Mike’s Arkansas friends!

Joe awesome match brother!! A big thank you to Sierra and all the other sponsors...The Greer family was Joe's "right hand man" so to speak many thanks to them as well.

Richard McClain...congrats buddy I'm proud of ya...you been putting in the work and you earned it!!

Lou Casale....that was nothing short of awesome this weekend sir...congrats!!

Ken Foster congrats.

Dennis Boyet congrats.

I was greeted with the standard 40 to 50 mph winds yesterday when we finally made it back to Texas. A far cry from the conditions that we shot in over the weekend. Lazy winds that switch in a heartbeat, the place had me baffled. Great range, good food and the best people. Heck of a weekend.

To Joe and everyone else that put such a great match on, THANK YOU! What an outstanding facility.

A big thank you to Sierra for sponsorship!

Congratulations to all the class winners. There were some amazing scores fired.

Lou, all I can say is unbelievable. You put on a heck of a show. Glad I was there to witness.

Finally, I would like to give Greg Barkley a big thumbs up for his effort. Greg's scores would have won anywhere in the world had he not been up against the superb performance Lou Casale put up. Great shooting brother!

Greg run into a buzz saw...hell we all did as far as that goes....We've all seen it before a FTR guy beats the open guys on points but generally the X count is down comparatively speaking....Lou had the 3rd highest x count for all classes this weekend....let that soak in for a second....AWESOME!!

I know it's a little late in coming but.....the McClain's would like to take a minute to say "Well Done Joseph!" We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the St Louis Benchrest club, Good shooting, good people good food, need I go on? Thank you as well to Sierra for sponsoring this great match it's ALWAYS fun. And thanks to all the others contributors for their donations as well. Bringing home some hardware wasn't too bad either, lol. We still look at each other and say "did that really happen?" every now and then.
