USPS Delivery Issues and Delays

I have always championed the USPS, and still will do that. My first real problem is a rest top sent to Jeykll Island, Ga. As you can see it is traveling all over and back and forth. Myself, customer and 3 good Postmasters have worn out consumer affairs to no avail. 2 weeks ago they charged my credit card $26 for an intercept. Supposed to come straight back to me, well it ain't made it.
My customer is an 'ell of a nice guy and isn't pushing it or asking for me to refund his money as I volunteered to do. I won't have additional parts until the end of next week, so can't send him another to him at this time.
We have been given several conflicting answers!

Just helped a bud "set" an 800# Denbigh flypress.Sent from Ca.,we're hillbillies in the Va mints.

"They",shipping/trucking co.,lost it for two weeks. Didn't have a clue where it was.My friend spent good $$ not only buying it,but shipping.

Finally showed up, I put it on our shop truck and hauled arse to it's resting place so,can attest to it's weight. Deal in enough equipment and it's gonna happen....doh.Good luck with your project.

Had the same thing happen to me. Package went back and forth across the country 2 times until it finally came back to me. USPS told me that the filament tape was covering part of the zip code. You think they would have had enough sense to pull the tape back to read it? Not on your life, let's just keep it in the system until someone bitches......grrrrrr
 
Been there, done that. Got several T shirts. I cringe every time I have any kind of package in the mail.

They don't have to deliver to my house. They can't find my PO box in the building where they work.
 
As I was reading the obituary I see it wasn't addressed correctly. Still doesn't make sense why it's taking so long though.
 
I'm about 40 Mi. North of Wash. DC. I just had a barrel shipped, on April 10, from Lilja in Montana. This is normally a 7 day UPS delivery. Two weeks later, April 24 the package arrived safely. The tracking history went from Cutbank, Mt. to Kansas City, Ks. to Fargo, ND. back to Kansas City, then to Salt Lake, UT. Then back to Kansas City then to Wash DC, then to Frederick Md. and finally to my home.
I e-mailed Melanie at Lilja and informed her that the barrel was "worn out" from traveling.

Every employee, from the Postmaster General down would have raises, and their job tied to performance. They outsource an awful lot of the jobs to "save money..." and that has not worked.

Know, that isn't the case even though it says that. What is the barcode for? What does the tracking number tell them? They told me today that they would take a picture and notify the 3 postmaster people to look at it!! If they can do that, why can't they send it back as they have all my info.
 
I too don't mind USPS but... I sent 2 packages at the same time to the same destination. 1 went straight there and the other came back to a depot about 2hrs. from me. Then back a different route but straight there, about 1600mi extra travel. Drove me nuts!
 
They are all pretty good and they can all have their problems. I'm pretty forgiving if it gets there eventually.

I'm currently dealing with an ebay package that has taken 2+ weeks to get to Phoenix. Delivered today but the buyer needed the threading inserts last week.
