Box Stands for Deer Hunting

Took the floor and 3 walls to the site today, building the door wall this week and put it all up next weekend with a temporary tarp roof. A simple bowed rod in the center makes a tarp drain well enough to hold the project semi dry while the roof is being prepared. Everything is finished at shop ready to install on site, I use the tree to lift my parts up with help from the truck... and rope is amazing what can be done!

Of course I ate crappie before I left the house....

you got your heat and air ready,,after last night with Phideoux taking over the couch i'm going tommorow to find a reclinerstand1.jpg

My only regret in putting in a floor hatch will be replacing chairs. Don't believe I'll ever get a recliner in that hatch opening. I may have to rethink the opening size. Maybe make it 3'x4'.

what you do is build your stand around the recliner get it first, problem solved,,

That's my plan in the beginning. How about once that one wears out ? Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
take one wall and put hinges on it swing out or drop down,,kick it out,put new one in,,worked on ships and ocean going tugs, most entry door where welded into larger plates that could be removed
hence 6x6 opening,,I'm on a roll today,no charge for the planning

don't forget the outhouse
This is easy to do, dig a hole under stand big enough to burry a plastic drum for a septic tank.Run a 6" stove pipe up to stand thru the floor. Flash and trim it out so you dont get any leakage. Place thunder bucket over hole.

6” pipe?? I just use a funnel and a garden hose.... there was a couple times last year that I needed more. Lol

Porta potti is going in mine. 5 gallon tank. Anti freeze will keep it from freezing till January when seasons end. Doing the PVC thing for a urinal. Crock in the ground is a 5 gallon bucket filled with stone.

Last wall finished, should go up next Sunday is the plan.

Get out of the stand and do what I have to. Can’t see a reasonable way to install a large bathroom pipe without swamp gas in a stand. No thanks lol

Put a flapper valve on top of buried tank, n use packets you drop in motor home tank.
Think about it. You'd have a inside outhouse!!
You could quite possibly spook your deer climbing out of stand.
Not to mention you might possibly dump a buck while dumping.
Use double walled stove pipe to muffle sound of thunder bucket.

Sounds just like a outhouse! Lmao...Double wall pipe? Now that’s funny!
There are bucket alternatives that are more flexible if needed. Most RV dealers carry them.
