Yeti

I got this notice from NRA-ILA on Friday:

ALERT! FREE “I Stand with the NRA Foundation Sticker” for YETI Coolers

DATE: April 28, 2016
TO: USF & NRA Members and Friends
FROM: Marion P. Hammer
USF Executive Director
NRA Past President

Don’t blow up your Yeti cooler. Don’t shoot your Yeti cooler full of holes. Don’t chain your Yeti cooler to the back of your pick-up truck and drag it down the highway. Don’t glue a toilet seat to Yeti cooler. Don’t hang your Yeti cooler in a tree and beat it with a baseball bat.

Put a big “I STAND WITH THE NRA FOUNDATION" sticker on your YETI cooler and keep using it. They cost too much money to destroy to make a statement. Let a sticker make your statement.

GET A FREE NRA FOUNDATION STICKER FOR YOUR YETI COOLER
at
The NRA Booth in the Convention Hall
or
The NRA Foundation Wall of Guns Raffle in the Convention Center
AT THE NRA ANNUAL MEETING & CONVENTION IN DALLAS, TEXAS - MAY 4th -May 6th

If you can’t go to the NRA Annual Meeting,
Go to your local “Friends of NRA Banquet & Auction” and get your FREE STICKER.

Go online to https://www.friendsofnra.org/national.aspx?cid=0 and find the location, date and time of a Friends of NRA Foundation Banquet and Auction near you.

So, if you can't make the NRA Annual Meeting, you should be able to pick one up afterwards at any of your local Friends of NRA banquets.

Buy a Coleman, send the $ difference to NRA-ILA -- if that works for you. I bought a Coleman last fall,
it was 1/4 the cost of a yeti. Did the job.

Maybe if my life or livelihood was depending on a $300+ cooler I'd get one.
Since the 2A is, well the 2nd amendment to the U.S Constitution, and will stand, the strategy is to chip away
at the non-gun quarter.

I'd be mindful of an excessive tax on ammunition, lead, antimony vs. a cooler importer pandering to the feel-good of the moment.

The State of Connecticut has passed legislation whereby state residents must register, purchase and show an ammunition purchase card to buy ammunition. Guess what's next?...

From Connecticut's DEP:
"Can I still buy ammunition over the counter as I did in the past? What about reloading components?
No.

Generally, if you are not considered eligible to purchase a firearm in Connecticut you will not be able to purchase ammunition. Effective October 1, 2013, all purchasers of ammunition must now have either a new “ammunition certificate”, a long gun eligibility certificate, a pistol permit, or an eligibility certificate. Ammunition is defined as a complete cartridge including case, projectile, primer, and propellant, therefore reloading components may be still be purchased without being subject to the newly enacted restrictions. "

Won't happen in your state? There are exactly 535 +/- persons who may possibly decide this issue. 435 in the house & 100 in the Senate.
Send your Yeti future $ to NRA; just a suggestion.

I still cant believe Yeti {or anyone else for that matter} would try to pawn off some "one off vendor legacy program" B.S. excuse on the rest of the world.......sounds more like something I would try to tell my wife after getting caught completely drunk with a couple Mexican hookers in a motel.

Now THAT'S a great idea. Let a sticker make your statement. Except I have a new old school coleman.

CT10ring, not certain what part of the country you're in but, you could go to a Friends of NRA event and ask the rep there for a Friends of NRA sticker. I've got one on my truck and one on a gun case.

Roger Seivers’s boys (Yeti), are rumored to be 80% OUT of the company and vested in Pelican

Just got a response from Yeti, saying they didn't single out NRA, are still strongly pro 2nd and feature hunters on their ads. They also said NRA mis-represented (lied) about the exchange they had.

I am tending to believe the NRA...

And that double-speak BS that Yeti sent out is just so painfully obvious when you compare it to the forthright and plain spoken convictions of Steve Hornady that only a hemp wearing stoner would believe Yeti.

Maybe if my life or livelihood was depending on a $300+ cooler I'd get one.

And even with those criteria, Yeti would be a poor choice. Plenty of evaluations out there, here is just one. Like stated, save your money and send the extra to the NRA ILA.
