AR-15 HELP!

I have an upper in 6.5 Grendel, .936 low profile SLR gas block, on a bull barrel, 24 inches.

I got the gas block put it on, and now my tubular free floating handguard doesnt fit. The handguard is 1.75 in inside diameter. Once installed, the SLR block sits up taller than I thought it would...

So I need a new handguard set up that will fit an SLR adj. gas block and bull barrel inside it... I like the extended rifle length long free floating hand guards...

any help?

I read what you said but, are you sure it's a low profile? Now, my Internet skills are far from good. However, I went on the SLR site and searched, ".936 low profile gas block" and got zero products. Maybe I just missed it.

A Dremel and a little paint will make your handguard what it ain't.

Couldn't resist.

BS aside I did this... and its looking promising...

I contacted SLR. He said they made the adjustable gas black for bull barrels and never really intended for it to go anywhere... not they dont make a handguard that fits.. and more and more people are building heavy barrel ARs. Basically an afjustable gas blovk was never intended for a bull barrel... or a bull barrel was never intemded for an AR... and people are going this way now and theres not compatible handguards for it yet...

same gas block? same heavy bull barrel? and the handguard fits?? does it fit over the gas block and hide it?

Two different issues. First is whether the handguard will slip over the block as it sits on the barrel (primarily diameter of the handguard, but you also may get interference from strength ribbing inside the casting.) The second is length, i.e. "does the HG extend over where the block is mounted?"

If you find one that satisfies the former, get a length in that guard that satisfies the latter. I suspect you'll have more trouble finding one large enough to slip over your gas block than finding one long enough.

FWIW, the JP Enterprises adj .936" block is pretty low profile. Pricey, but not too bulky.

Brownell has Mega Arms billet uppers w/handguard that will work and they are about 200 less than retail. I have two uppers built on them and they both shoot a hole.
Good luck

Sending you a PM with a picture of a JP low profile adjustable gas block with rifle length tube. I bought it new a never used it. If you think you can use I'll make you a super deal on it. The block measures 1.335 assembled.
