Single shot follower

How big of an undertaking is setting up a single shot follower in a Rem 700 for a novice? What's the proper way of going about this ? I bought an older BR stock and I'm thinking of attempting this and bedding my action in this stock.

no problem at all. buy a ptg follower and put it in there- simple as that! it wont go backwards or sideways and fits flush so its very straightforward

So it attaches to the action in a fashion that it doesn't have to be adjusted ? Fits flush as in it pops into place on the bottom of the action and provides the proper height and feed angle? What's the best way to attach it if there's a more than fair chance it'll be removed?

it fits in there tight. no adjustments whatsoever. when you bed the rifle with it in place it cant go anywhere. some people fill in the little recesses around it with jb weld. when you order it you'll see how it works just know it works very well.

I have tried several different brands of followers and the best I found is Gre-Tan. Greg makes a great follower that is contoured for the 700 action and fits like a glove. Try it you won't be disappointed.

i'm sure if greg makes it then its nice. i have never personally used one. i've only used the score high and ptg

I get mine from RW Hart.i use a couple dabs of silicone caulk to hold it in the action while bedding, easy peezy... E

I got mine from Score High Gunsmithing in Albuquerque, NM. Works perfect.
