6.5mm 150-grain Sierra Match King

Does anyone have experience shooting Sierra's 6.5mm MK in a 7.5" twist barrel? Cartridge will be 6.5 PRC and barrel length will be 30".

How far does the put your boattail shank junction in the Neck? Who made your reamer? Thanks Bill
JGS reamer.

Factory reamers are .188", & my 6.5-284 is the same. I had not intended to shoot the 150's, & was planning on 140 VLD's. So I extrapolated seating in my 284 to the PRC case with the VLD's, and decided to bump the throat to .200" even, as I was building on a long action, and didn't care about OAL.

Turns out the 150's were calling my name, and the throating is snookum for them too. Boatail/body juncture is just above the neck/shoulder junction. OAL is 3.095" in the lands 15-20.

Very useful info. Very close to my theoretical calculations. I might need a little longer throat since I don't like to jam the bullets. I assume you have found the best accuracy with the smks jammed. Thanks

Very useful info. Close to my theoretical calculations. I may want a little longer since I don't like to jam. Throat erosion should lengthen it some. This should also work for the SMK 142 since base to ogive and boattail are the same. Glad to see the old also works. I would bet Berger might come out with a new higher bc once they get settled in their new location. The 150 smk has raised the bar.
Thanks.
Bill

Berger is coming out with a 156. From the little info out in January, I think it is going to be in the hunting hybrid line. Along with the 184 F open bullet.
