New f-open record or not?

Waiting a year to recognize a record? Wow I could see maybe 6 months but a year. Okay thats the NRA.

As I understand it...this applies to a record in a 'new category'...ie- the initial record for that category. I understand the reason as being a new record could be set every week until a 'high bar' has been established. Heck, a 550-16x could be the first score submitted and thus would be 'the record'. It would be best to allow many scores submitted, a year's worth not being unreasonable IMO, to have a score that represents a true significant accomplishment.

What about the 1792 - 118X? That was the record I looked for.

Found nothing close for the entire 180 shot match.

A suggestion to F-Class Records:

Talk to the site God's here, and have a Pinned thread for F-Class Records. Reply with new records as there shot, with the OP periodically updating the "original post" to include the new records.

Just a thought....

Ya no kidding, theres a record or medal for about every possible scenario it seems like. Too hard to keep track of for me!

I set it last year at Red Wing with a 600 49X at the regional match! Before that Dwayne Draggoo had it with a 600 42x

Kevin Shepherd shot a 600-44x in 2015 at the TSRA State Mid Range match on the second day.

FYI, Steve shot so fast a few of thought someone was cross firing on his target.

Aggressive shooters are often waiting for the target they are so intense. Congratulations to this guy! Don’t know him but glad he had a good day of shooting and no doubt a hard work payoff! Opportunity and skills met on the line.

That is excellent shooting !
But I do not see how a record on an electronic target can be held to the same standard as one shot on paper with the built in delay and dependency of having a good or mediocre target puller. If the electronic targets used at that match allowed for firing as fast as you can work the bolt/trigger, then wouldn't that be a BR match?

I guess that depends on how fast the BR guys fire. Steve is a BR guy and an F-Open guy. Would firing 2 sighters and 20 rounds for record in 4 minutes be too fast? Because that's how fast it was, and he wasn't the only one firing that fast. It comes out to roughly 11 seconds per round.

Heck yeah! That’s screaming fast.... BR shooters will do it in less time but they only run 5 or 10 rds.
At that rate I don’t even think Mother Nature has a chance to catch her breath and cause chaos!

Shooting Fclass on pulled targets your lucky to get a follow up shot within 30-45 sec on avg. assuming the puller is awake, weather is good and caffeine level is on point!

I regularly pull targets in well under 10 seconds, providing I am not chasing the holes all over the target. If someone is shooting 10's and x's, it is not uncommon to pull in 5 or 6 seconds.

I also am regularly prepared to shoot when the target comes up when someone is pulling my target that fast.

If the rules allow it, its fair to everyone.... IMO

With live pits, fast pullers verses slow pullers, also can make a huge difference, that one could say the same thing about. My favorite puller of all time (@Rtheurer) consistently had the target back up in less then 10-seconds (less then 8-seconds vastly).
