Evening brainstorm

For the Pdog Fields , I have seen and tried just about every type of Bench out there . For ease of use , the Truck Bed worked very well for me in Texas . I just asked to have the Truck parked with the wind to my back and made shots out to a bit under 500 Yards and a few just under 700 Yards . Did that for two trips , but maybe those Texas winds don't vary direction much or I was just lucky . On my own , a three legged heavy duty Bench I bought many years ago works for me . I ran into the BEST set-up many years ago on a Trip to Montana . Tons of Pdogs in those days . I noticed this small Truck following me to the various Fields and shooting at Pdogs , but always over 500 Yards away . After a few hours of this , I decided to drive over and see what's up . Looked to be a brand new Truck with two people standing up in the Cab . There was an old guy Shooting with about a 20 year old Blonde spotting . They had on more Gold jewelry than I have ever seen in a Black Hills Jewelry Store . Old guy tells me that I appeared to know my way around these back Trails ( not even Roads ) and that he hoped I was not annoyed . Turns out he had the Truck ( some sort of Turbo-engine) purposely built for Pdoggin so they could stand up in the Cab and shoot off the roof . Pretty interesting discussion followed . Turned out he owned a Casino in Nevada , and his "spotter" was one of the Show Girls . Very nice set-up ! I thought about asking to borrow his " spotter" , but figured that would not fly .

I more in less wanted the jack at the receiver for 2 reasons. One to help people put it in the receiver, and it was more so meant to be just moved and then place in more long term positions. A week or so here or there. The chair was meant to be easily taken off by taking bolts and pins out and lifting up. Same for the table. This would make it also a little more convienient for longer distance moving.

Really appreciate the feed back though guys. Im more so thinking of using the tactic for east coast ground hog. Place the stand on Sunday. Let the hogs get used to it for a few days. The jacks while added weight are for leveling, especially when disconnected :D. Not legal to hunt from a vehicle in PA. My overall cost isnt really going to be too hurendous by sourcing most parts from the scrap yard and harbor freight. Hey if you guys have any ideas you want to share feel free to hijack the thread. I love creativity.

I built several reciever attached shooting stands in the past. With the ground jacks extended on both sides for support bracing it does not rock side to side. You will moved if a partner opens the doors, or jumps in the bed. Most of my rocking was from swiveling around and my post cuts not 100% squared. With lows winds around 5 mph or so I never noticed movement that I would consider to much. It took a bit of testing and welding in spots to fill in voids on the tables posts to stop off centering when turning the table.. I know in many states it is still considered shooting from the vehicle. The stand above was my 1st one and only had a single ground support that is not used in the picture, but you can see the tube it slide into.
