Peterson 243 SRP Brass Report

Several weeks ago Derek gave me 100 of their new 243 Small Rifle primer brass to try. I am currently on the 11th loading of this brass with a annealing on the 5th load. The load is 42.5gr of RL22 with Berger 105gr hunting, and CCI Br primers, approx .004 of the lands.

I am very happy with this brass, the primer pockets are just as tight as the first loading. The performance of the brass is also very consistent from shot to shot. Several 1000yd targets with 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 of vertical in not the best of weather conditions.

Gonna try some of the Nosler 105 RDF's tomorrow and see how they perform.

Derek told me the other day that the 243 should be available within the next week or so on the web site.

Really glad to hear that. It's hard to beat a good 243 for a lot of things. Is RL22 supposed to be easier on the barrels like the H1000?

I would be really glad to hear that they were going to be adding 6BR to the lineup soon as well.

Just looked on the site and it is available for purchase now.

For some reason I’m not seeing it.

Funny thing is I looked at their address and I just picked up a gun from an ffl just down the street from them earlier this week. I had no idea that they were there.

I used H1000 I my 6CM, however its a very dirty powder in my opinion. RL22 just works in my gun,and I picked up a bunch at a sale for cheap ;), so it shoots even better.

I gotta say I love the peterson lapua brass I'm using. I bisected the Peterson vs the lapua and the Peterson was more consistent and weighed out better.
I have some pieces with 5+ firings and pockets are tight even with Max X2 loads running 106 grains of RL 33 in one and 99 grains of retumbo in the other. Peterson is my #1 choice

I felt like I would take a chance on Peterson and ordered some 6.5 Creedmoor SP brass this past fall. It was a smooth transaction, it was delivered in ammo boxes with a foam insert to protect the case mouth, the mouth was chamfered, the cases were uniform in length and weight. I’m on my 8th firing with a stout load of H4350 and 140 Bergers, primer pockets are still very tight. I like it enough I sold my Lapua brass in that cartridge. I’m hoping they take a look at Saum. I’m also hoping they are able to keep their quality where it is, I think it’s pretty apparent Peterson is going grow as more people try their brass.

Nice to see their 243 brass on the available page.
