TL Technologies Action

300-whisper I just finished a build on one of these actions, Make sure your smith understands that the counter bore for the bolt nose will need to be opened up to about .760"

I chambered the barrel in 28nosler and the extractor would not cam over the rim of the case, I had the counter bore at .740" as per Mr Lyons and the extractor was hitting the counter bore and not opening up to let the case head under it. Does that make sense?

Here is the rifle all done up

Is that a Carbon Six barrel? I'm interested in your build, going somewhere similar with my TL Technologies Action.

Is your rifle ceracoated? How did you get that nice stainless look to it? It’s only available in chromoly correct?

I got them in the raw uncoated, I don't know what color I'm gonna cerakote it yet I might just leave it as it looks pretty dang good just like that.

No its a Frozen Fiber CF barrel which is not a company anymore, The barrel blank is a 1-8" twist 6 groove Xcaliber #5 contour then turned down and wrapped. This would almost be exactly like the Carbon 6 feather weight barrel. Its .710" at the muzzle at 27" the whole rifle is only 7.3LBS with the night force and bipod its an even 10lbs.

I think Frozen Fiber had a facebook a month ago but seems to have disappeared as you said. I guess he was overwhelmed and couldn't deliver as promised for many customers. Carbon Six takes a while I read as they're built to order, but generally they seem to have a good reputation. There's just not much out there about them in regard to accuracy and the carbon wrap's durability.

I honestly don't think ill do another Carbon Fiber barrel. I only got this one because it was a good deal. It chambered fine and seems to show promise with handloads so far. But that said a #4 or #5 contour fluted will be the same weight and more ridged then a Wrapped barrel.

Did you get the Hawkins rings made for Pierce actions? I'm looking to find out what 0MOA pic rail I can get. He only has 20MOA and 10 MOA available, and I know m700 doesn't work. I got a great deal on a 30MOA American Rifle QD mount and don't need any more cant.

Yes I did

300-whisper - I'm sure these are the guys you bought from (http://tltechnologiesinc.com) but I find nothing about them offering a product, of any type. Another site or? Thanks.

Sorry didn’t see this. For some reason I didn’t get a notification. Yeah that company owns the CNC machines that do the action work for legendary arms work. I guess they still produce the action and are stamping it their own now?? Mr. Lyons did all the gunsmith work / clean up. Overall I’m pleased. He’s the one to contact on the forum to purchase one. His username on the forum is grandslam 4.

300Whisper did you get your rifle put together yet? also what bolt knob did you got on yours? I didn't specify and got the weird small round balls, those went in the bolt bin and I put PTG tactical ones on all three of mine.

No lol...my Smith still has 2 of the 4 rifles I dropped off, and he just had surgery. Im waiting on a .338 Lapua and a .260 from him before I drop the parts off for this rifle. I got the tactical bolt knob from mr. Lyons and really like it. It’s got the tear drop shape but it’s turned down so it’s smaller than a badger ordinance knob. I’ll post pics one my smith finishes it.

I'm still wondering what to do with my .308 BF SA. Twas thinking about another 260 rem. Found a Mcmillan Hunters Edge, classic rem with sporter contour (up to #4). Can't decide on making a little woods rifle with a #2 22" barrel and a low power scope, or a fluted #3/4 at 26" and a VX-5 3x15. I don't need either one so there isn't anything motivating me one way or the other.

What do you mean by why?

Also any other noticeable issues? Have you completed a build on one? Thanks for your input! It’s appreciated.
Yes i own one and its in a 22-250 ai.
Great price for the money but what i ment was why sell a action with a cnc one piece bolt and other great features and then not be square?
Primers crater horrible also as pin fits loose.
I squared it up and just shoot it for now. Prolly bush pin later.
