Federal Ultra match

I was trying different lots of Ultra indoors and it shot 5 shots in a hole and the hole was so small it would not let a 22 round fall through and it is the same lot that shot a 1/4" group at 100 yds. so it can shoot both places I guess...... Jim

Jim when you get the hole so small that a 17 cal won't go through, then you KNOW you really have something.

Really??, A single hole my 17 hoes right in it.223 is considerably larger than a 17, but 5 shots in a hole and .223 bullet is tight is small..... Jim

I bought four thousand rounds of 922A. Shoot it mostly in my S&W Victory. In my pistol, it is more accurate than Eley Target, but not quite as accurate as Eley Club when fired from a sandbag rest at 75'.

The Federal Ultra Match I ordered came in the Ultra Match box but had code # 922A on the end where UM22 general is.
Just checking to see if anyone else got the same stuff from Sportsman Guide. Thanks

I read an article recently about this, can't remember where. But the outcome of the explanation of the article was, it's UM, the boxes where mismarked. Wish I could remember where that was posted. Brian.

Emailed Federal and found out the boxes are marked wrong at times. Kind of like the directions for adjusting an Anschutz trigger, something is lost in translation....... Jim

I shot that new lot outside at 50 yds. wind was rather brisk 15 gusting to near 30 and 60 degrees. The new lot of Federal Ultra with a 922A code on the box shot in .2 repeatedly R50 was big and so was Tenex ..... Considering the conditions, it was ok..... Jim
