223 brass fs head stamp

Have a bunch of 223 brass with head stamp fs it also has red paint around primer (there from field and stream) My question is; is it reloadable. While depriming I broke 3 pins. I noticed the flash holes are smaller than other brass. Don't want to reload it if it isn't going to work. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Should I just Scrap that brass or give it a shot. Any help would be appreciated

The only reference I could find was 1941-1945 from Turkey with an FS headstamp. BUT those were both a Mauser round. Red 'paint' was the sealant used to waterproof military stuff. FS is used by the Turkish to indicate 'cartridge'. Nothing recent in my archives, but if someone come up with it let me know so I can add it.

'Field & Stream .223'...courtesy of Google. It's probably reloadable but if you already broke three pins I'd be inclined to scrap it. If yours looks like these, then the edges of the pockets might need some attention too.

how much is a bunch? Id check the flash hole size with a pin gauge or a number drill and if it is small you could ream them while you are deburring the flashhole or drill them some other way to a standard size. Could always use a pin punch to get them out to start with. It will work just depends if they are worth spending the time on.

Send them to me.. i will play with them!

A quick online search finds the flash hole small and often off-center from others who have reloaded F&S brass. As others have mentioned; it may not be worth the hassle. I'd get a Lee universal decapping die and see what primers cam out easy and toss the rest.
