I sure wish someone would begin manufacturing Kindler's 30gr HPBT or one like it ..... as long as they produce them with the same degree of consistency. It was definitely in a class by itself as were all of his bullets that I tried. I figured sure that some younger than I person would have tried to buy the dies and revive his line of 17 bullets.
I have tried a few of the Reeds, but not enough to render judgement on them. I've shot enough of them to know that I'll have to buy a box and do load development on them to see if they are competitive with Kindler's 30 golds on paper, and across the chrony, then try em out on chucks, and coyotes. But all that's going to take a while.WD
I was about to build a .17 until I found out TOdd Kindler sold his bullet making equipment and we lost his line. The availability of bullets keep me from it.
Hopefully this new endeavor pans out for the guy that bought Todd's dies and jackets.
I agree. I have a box of his bullets on the way now. When I talked with him on the phone while ordering the bullets he seemed very polite and eager to get things rolling. WD
Saw a post yesterday on Saubiers about the gentlemen who bought Todds dies,he is making 23 grain bullets right now and had a drt. on a coyote with it,pictures too.I also saw a report on the Reed 30 hp,looks great as well.I understand the guy who bought Todds dies is nice to talk to and loves hunting coyotes,he plans on building 30s soon.I hope it works out and that the jacket situation works out too.

For those of you who are interested in bullets being made using Kindler's dies here is the phone number of the fellow who bought those dies and is currently making and selling the 30 gr. BTHP. 1 (254) 784-9533 He makes .172 caliber bullets of other weights using Kindler's dies as well. He is posting information over at the Saubier.com board and his board name is Ct17.
I have been using C.E. Nagel's .172 caliber bullets in both the 25 gr. T-000 and 30 gr. T-000. The 30 gr. bullets have been great bullets on coyotes and prairie dogs and the 25 gr. ones are excellent on prairie dogs.
A friend of mine has been using Reed's 30 grainers and testifies they are great on coyotes. Deadly, but not tough on fur. He posts over at Saubier.com under the board name Chad.
I bought 800 30 grain bergers right before they stopped making them. I don't even want to shoot them. I also have a few 29gr Reeds that I never worked up a load for.
