favorite hydro press?

never having using an arbor style press, or a hydro seater/measuring system was curious to hear feedback from those whom have

looking at the KM and 21st Century setups with Lee dies.

Dale Carpenter (DC Firearms) is also making one... basically its a base that attaches to your existing K&M press. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

I started with a K&M, bought a 21st Century, sold it and stuck with the K&M. Nothing wrong with either of them, I was just more used to the K&M.

I have the K&M and feel it provides all the seating pressure information I'll ever need. I do know two shooters who have the 21st Century press that have developed leaks requiring replacement. 21st Century took care of it promptly.

I had the same issue with my 21st and it was taken care of in less than a week. I really like it and believe it works to improve your consistency.

I have one of Dale's hydro press bases and it is built like a tank. I compared it with the 21st century and it's definitely more sturdy and you don't have to worry about the little hoses or handle linkage moving around. Very easy to use and gives great feedback when seating bullets.

Have been using 21st Century Hydro Press for couple years now and have no complaints. I believe it has helped with consistency on target since I've been using it.

Mine developed leak, i emailed 21st century told them its a few years old now and leaking, 2 weeks later a new one arrived and I'm in Australia. Great service.

I have the 21st Century press. I notice when I seat my bullets, the needle doesn't even move while seating. Can the neck tension be too light? You can't pull the bullets by hand nor can you press them in any further by hand. They don't move in the magazine during recoil either. I am using a .289 bushing and have a loaded neck diameter of .290. This is on a 6.5x47. I am annealing the necks with an AMP annealer. I know the gauge works because it will start to read once the bullet is completely seated if you put more tension on the handle.

Not trying to be a smart a--, but how do they shoot? To me, that's the bottom line.

My buddy had both and we checked them with a device to measure the pounds required. They both were pretty close. The one was a few pounds light on the scale a d the other was a few pounds heavy. He sold the K&M and kept the 21st Century. I can't remember the reason but I believe it was because the handle was longer and he liked it a hair better. Matt
