BEST ARBOR PRESS WITH MICROMETER

HELLO EVERYONE,

I AM LOOKING FOR THE BEST ARBOR PRESS WITH A MICROMETER.

I HAVE LOOKED AT THE K&M AND THE 21ST CENTURY hydro bullet seater?

Whats the best one out there?

Or the one that gives you consistent results?

IT is not the arbor press that gives you consistent results - all they do is push the bullet in the cases - it is case prep that gives you consistent results...

... the press with gauge just tells you how consistent your efforts are.

Gil.
Given the choice between the 21st Century and the K&M, the 21st Century is WAYYYYYYYYY better. I have both a K&M and the Sinclair (got as a B-Day present) which is plenty for me. If I were to start buying equipment again, I'd buy the 21st hands down. I recently bought the 21st Concentricity Gauge and it is far nicer, better built, and more accurate than either the Hornady or Sinclair. In short, 21st build some really nice equipment. So don't waste your money like I did. Buy right the first time.

Catshooter,

This time I MUST say you are right on! Even with a micrometer topped in-line die, that just makes re-adjusting easier. The case prep is ALL!

Gil,
Let me clarify what I posted because IMHO, what Catshooter and Norm write, is absolutely correct. My comments were directed at a more precisely operating piece of equipment and NOT that an Arbor Press is going to make a poorly prepared case shoot well. Precision shooting, in part, requires preparation to the nth degree including a critical evaluation of how you prepare the load at every step. The components you use even matter a great deal in your particular rifle that'll tell you what she likes and what she doesn't. There really isn't a boiler plate load (so to speak) that will work in every weapon of the same caliber. Gotta test to find out. And yes the equipment you use matters...BUT it's not the equipment ALONE that'll get you to where you want to be. Just food for thought.
