Adding a left port to an action?

I know you can buy left port/right port actions, but was wondering if you could convert an existing single port action to a dual port action?

Don't plan on doing it, but wonder if its possible and how difficult.

Ive never done that I just know plenty of guys have done it so yes its possible and has been done. Someday ill try it. Coarse aside from milling the hole in the action you need to change the ejector/ejection

Some action you can . Savage target action , Remington 783 are 2that I've done .
I didn't change extraction , I load left and extract right . But it can be switched with actions that have removable bolt heads .

Wasn't really planning on changing extraction. I am left handed and thought might be easier to load from the left.

Thinking of a Savage, possibly Target action. Maybe a Remmie

Rem 783 are easier and work better , long action for say a 6.5 creedmore gives you plenty of room for milling without problems . The sav target action is best bought as a dual port cause the price is worth the labor and mill time .

Lefty should shoot a right handed bolt rifle for prone. You get to load and shoot without moving anything. I had an right handed AR and had a port cut on the left side for loading in prone slow fire. Really made a difference. Didn't have to come out of position to load. Looks kind of funny but it works for me.
