6BR- Ackley Improved 40 degree

You can',t the neck is too short on the Dasher. You would need to run the reamer in there for the 6br imp. after you shortened it and you would more likely to have a step in your neck. All of this if the die isn't hardened. Jim
Ok that makes sense thankyou Jim.

Cheers Rushty

Awesome, thanks Tom. Seriously considering chambering up a barrel for PRS competition. Easy to tune, easy to make brass, same speed as the Dasher with potentially better barrel life all sounds good to me.

I've been informed by knowledgeable sources that the proper pronunciation of the 6BRA is "6 Brah" with a Hawaiian accent. :)

Put my first ever 1.350" barrel in the old wobbly South Bend, love that contour! BR-AI reamer cut great!!

Sheldon,

My oldest brass is at fireformed + 8 firings. No problems yet, still has equal and sufficient resistance seating primers. This is all at the 2965-3000 fps range with h4895 which is quite capable of ruining brass in my dasher experience.

My plan is to run that first barrel and it's brass through next year too as my heavy gun. This should give an idea of barrel life and brass life. Haven't decided between it and two others for this years nationals yet though.

Tom

Tom , how many cycles to you put on the match brass before you retire from competition?

I have a Wilson Dasher neck die, so it looks like I can use that to get a couple brass fired five times to send to Harrells to see if they have a Dasher die that will fit after .080" is removed. Hopefully PTG will have my reamer done soon.

Just ordered a PTG 6mm Uni-throater kit with .2438" freebore diameter.....the wait continues......

What chamber length are you guy`s using for your 6 BR AI reamer????

1.555 / 1.560 / 1.570, or something completely different??
