I have a Wilson Dasher neck die, so it looks like I can use that to get a couple brass fired five times to send to Harrells to see if they have a Dasher die that will fit after .080" is removed. Hopefully PTG will have my reamer done soon.
 
I did some chronograph work today with my new BRAI with the 110SMK. 30" .237" 7.5" Krieger 4 groove, about .140" free bore. Chamber cut with my .272" 6BR reamer and my Norma Dasher reamer then throated. 115 rounds through the barrel.
30.8 H4895 2920-30 about max
31.7 Varget 2912 slightly sticky
31.7 RL15. 2911 about max
32 RL16 2850 a case full
I knew RL16 would be too slow or bulky but just had to try it anyways.

Depending on if and how much accuracy this could be really nice for F and steel. Hopefully this weekend I'll find time to do a ladder and some development.

EPS 106, RE15, CCI450, .01" from touch, .237 4-groove Krieger @ 28", .104" freebore, 90deg & muggy as hell. magnetospeed V3 told me:

FF loads at 30.5gr = 2,800
32.0 thru 32.4 = 2,974 to 2,981 but wasn't linear. 5 shots at 5 different charges with ES of 7FPS. I think that's about as fast as she wants to go.
 
How many rounds on the barrel? first I use 32.305 of RL-15 with a fed 205 primer. shot it with a cci 450 shot ok but more pressure...... Jim

About 150 rounds. What velocity does 32.3/ 205 get you?

32.3 is where I plan to load my next 30 or so and start playing with seating depth at 400-ish. 32.4 was getting a little stout. Primers cratering a little but still has nice round edges, bolt was easy to open, no clicks, etc. If I can't run em off quickly, I'm not interested. It's probably worth noting that the EPS 106 has a rather long bearing surface. To be within a few FPS of the documented sweet spot of 2,985-2,990 makes sense.
 
You may pick up some speed in a little. The record LG. shot at Williamsport was with RL-15 and Maybe Roger would let you know about the speed, I'm only using a 26" right now and it hurts a lot in speed for those couple of inches. With H4895 the short barrel gets 2974 with 31.1 gr. and a 205 primer....... Jim
 
I am guessing that 106 has a lot of bearing surface, which is part of the speed issue. 32.2-32.3 of rl15 is about right. I always preferred a 450 primer with 15. I have chambered so many of these lately my reamer is getting dull, lol. I bet its pushing 30 chambers and everyone that has given me feedback is in that 2980 fps range. Just got a carbide version of that reamer in that cuts a chamber that looks like a mirror finish, same with the throat.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think I have an issue. Just sharing what I've found. 2,980 is practically there. And you are correct about bearing surface
 
Can I just turn 80 thousands off of my 6 Dasher sizing die and use it for both Dasher and BRA? My sizing die is full length sizer with neck bushings.

Also, will I be able to use my Wilson arbor press type seater for the BRA?

You could do this but I wouldn't recommend it. You won't be resizing the base of the dasher case using a 6BRAI resize die. You can use a dasher seater for the 6brai but the case will be somewhat loose in the die. That's my 2 cents.
 
It really depends on your Dasher chamber. If your back end of your Dasher cases don't expand much, then yes. Measure a fired case at the .200" line and then size it and remeasure it. Then you'll know.
 
For the guys using a standard 6 Dasher seating die for BRA are you still finding it sufficient to use as is or have you or are you considering trimming .80" like FL die?

Any feedback on Lapua brass life yet? Does running the slightly higher pressure to hit the ~2970 node cause primer pockets to loosen any sooner, compared to the Dasher?

You can',t the neck is too short on the Dasher. You would need to run the reamer in there for the 6br imp. after you shortened it and you would more likely to have a step in your neck. All of this if the die isn't hardened. Jim
