Custom action

I recall someone making a custom action that they sold with out a bolt. I think the idea was that the PGT bolts were good enough so making a new bolt wasn't necessary. I haven't seen these in a while and was wondering if they were still available? If they are who was it that made them?

Believe it was the predecessor to Defiance. Found out that it wasn't a good idea.
Maybe it was the Phoenix.

I posted photos of my receiver and bolt on the 24hr Campfire forum yesterday. There was a discussion on the CFS in the LH shooters section. I posted photos to allow them to see what they looked like. They gave me a little bit of a hard time because mine was a RH model. Fit and finish looks great.

The actions in this sale look to be untouched factory actions for 380$, the PTG bolt option adds around 300$???

Yeah, I have been looking ever since I heard, I was going to buy at least one single shot actions if not two. But, I can get a SS SA single shot for 393$ free shipping anytime. Apparently I am either reading this thread wrong or I cant find the ones "on Sale".

I found some single shots on their site, Starting price is 675$. That action with the black plastic looking bolt knob in the link you posted is the only single shot.

I think the key to the discussion is that in Dave's post above he was careful to mention '.starting at $380.' However, if you select and exercise all of the options listed the total will be $746.90/each. That's a fluted, coned bolt, Kenyon-style trigger and rail.

Yes just got off the phone with them, they have just updated them, Single shots with PTG bolt starting at 422$ that's a pretty good deal.

Butch is correct, it was Defiance with their CC series actions. I have one and it took some work with the bolt handle to get it to work properly, but once done it's a good action. No longer available.

Now are these actions blueprinted. This says stainless but looks blued. I will pay $450 for it if it is a stainless blueprinted single shot short action.
