Accuracy VS velocities

You guys must sleep in or something, we'd all just have to stand around and BS for at least an hour and a half to kill time. Joking aside, all shooting accomplishments impress me. It should be obvious to break a record lots of things have to fall into place including conditions. And people that set multiple records really impress me. That shows its not luck. And then guys who have set records in different disciplines, thats awesome. I think Jim set some in short range too right? Either way, when a record is set or match won theres always guys trying to knock it down. He had good conditions, started earlier, or luck or hummer barrel, blah blah blah. That says nothing about the guy who set the record, but it says everything about the guy knocking it. They are jealous, and know its out of their reach so they try and knock it. 99% of shooters could not break a world record in a vacuum! And that includes me. :)

So I say, dont knock anyones accomplishments until you can back it up...

Alex, you nailed it. People are envious of others accomplishments and are quick to talk smack. Hard work and dedication will take you a long way with anything in life. Luck always helps but successful people seem to make their own luck.
Bottom line is,
Winners think about winning
Losers think about winners

My 2 cents,

Anytime someone does well at any Match that I'm at, I'm one of the first to congratulate them! I think that everyone needs a pat on the back when when they shoot small at 1000 yards. whether you shoot Benchrest or on your belly. You have done something most people like myself dream of doing. So why not be nice about it! I even gave Tom a Huge before he won the nationals and then again after he won. There is nothing I like more than compete against the best shooters in the Country, then you know how well your rifle is working. I had the pleasure of setting between two top shooters this weekend in our Shoot Off with the conditions the no one in there right mind would have shot in, rain blowing in on your scope and fog that made it so you only had a blur of the center, and you know when it was over, all three of us dropped our 6th shot low. So be nice guys that's the reason we lose shooters.

Larry, cutting down someone else's accomplishments is bashing. Its making excuses for yourself. You may shoot at a tough range and never have a chance at a record. That does not mean you cut others down. If Manatee held 600 yard matches, records would fall there. Your kidding yourself if you think the conditions are tough at Manatee..
Alex
I not cutting down. Anyone or bashing
anyone .
It a fact that conditions effect the score .
Yes manatee would set records but not the kind any shooter would want .
Nobody can go to a 600 yard gong match and hit 15 5" gongs every week they go .
That tells me we must have bad guns bad shooters , or it could be bad conditions for shooting . But I also can say we don't have 15 shooters in the state that want to shoot that kind of sport . NBRSA use to have a shoot yearly . The reason they don't is from the lack of attendance .
The only record I see was the lack of attendance . lol Larry

Bart -
Appears someone may be yanking your chain... or your unaware and confused on several aspects.
Here are some current IBS facts for you:
- There are multiple clubs/ranges who hold 1 match per day events, and is the original traditional way.
- Montana uses the original & traditional Shoot-Off format, like most all others clubs do.
- Montana uses a 8:00 AM start time, same as several other IBS clubs/ranges do.
Montana is conducting there matches the exact same way other ranges do, well within the tradition of the IBS1000, and like they have for +15 years. So what's to bitch about?

All those tears must make the cry-babies cereal awful soggy.... lol

I'm fairly fluent with both the IBS AND NBRSA rule books! I'm Not unaware what so ever. Alex took a snipe at Harry Jones range. I just fired one back at Alex! Now I realize that usually incurs a protective response from at least one of the three amigos,"Alex, Donovan, or Tom." Depending on who's Under fire.

Ranges like Hawks Ridge with 40 plus shooters end up shooting all day! So it's the same format! But they get exposed to a greater amount of conditions! That's their problem!

What you guys are doing is fine. I'd just like for someone to say, "Yes we do have good conditions! This format does give us an advantage! It's what we want to shoot!" It makes us happy!" Not an attempted lesson on the history and rules of the IBS justifying the format!

Larry,

I went to a bunch of the Manatte matches! The problem with that particular match was it always managed to land on the one week of winter you guys have. George Kelbly had to go back to Ohio to get warm! Challenging place to shoot none the less!

Moving it off of the main range didn't help either.

I have said all of that, I can't remember if I did all within this thread. Just quit already, this is stupid.

Tom

Ok Ok Ok !!!! You're correct!!!! It is getting stupid! I am going to play nice!

Hope you guys have a great match this weekend! I'm pulling for you to shoot a 1.5 in LG Saturday
2.1 in HG Saturday

And a tad smaller for both on Sunday! Share some results when you get done!

Who's your buddy? Who's your pal?
