Berger AR Hybrid OTM bullet design change?

So , I got my new bullets today, 6.5 130gr AR Hybrid OTM Tactical. Same part number as i have ordered in the past. Same exact name on the box. BUT THEN I noticed the G7 BC changed from .287 to .290. Not a big or bad change admittedly but got me to thinking, wondered what had changed? Did Berger just review the advertised BC and discover it was actually .290 instead of.287? Or did they change the design slightly to improve the BC? The new ones do measure approx .020 " longer. Ill email Berger tomorrow and ask them but thought somebody else surely already has? Anybody got anything? Was planning on gambling on a different lot # of bullets with no opportunity to confirm before a match on Saturday thinking they would be the same bullet Ive been shooting. Now im thinking i might just be wasting the powder and barrel life if established dope is no longer right.

I just got 2 boxes today from midway both have 287 g7 BC on label lot# B639.Im no help but curious to what u find out

New Lot # is 8129. Part # is the same on old boxes and new. OAL of new lot is Approx .020" longer and from base of bullet to ojive is approx .024" longer:confused:unnamed.jpg

I too thought maybe they had just updated the BC based on new or improved testing testing procedures and i know the difference in BC itself, .003, would most likely have a negligible effect on poi but like i said earlier the new bullets are actually about .023 or .024 longer over all. My thought is if the weight stays the same,130gr, the design had to change some.ie bearing surface, ogive etc. The .024 difference in oal is relative to the base to ogive but i have now way to tell if there was significant change to the boat tail so im not sure if all of the .024 is in tghe bearing surface or a combination. Its probably insignificant and i had some of the old design that i had coated which i will (un coat) and use in the match so its really just a curiosity on my part at this point. Back to the test bench with the new design if it ever quits raining.

Lucky,
Dont change the adjustment on your seating die if its already set for the previous lot. Back off the load a grain to grain and a half and work back up. The 6.5 130gr AR/OTM bullet is a hybrid bullet along the lines of our Classic Hunter bullets and is made to be used at the standard published magazine length of the cartridge you are loading for. They are very tolerant of jump and rarely do you have to do any seating depth testing with them.
