Shooter had personal scorer

At recent match yesterday shooter showed up with a personal score keeper. He caused quite a ruckus and threw the relay score keeper rotation off. Electronic targets were used. Then when match director approached he was vulgar and pissed at the other Shooters on the target that informed the match director.

Very intersting. Shooter wanted to participate in shooting and bitching and directing everyone else but didn't want to help keep score.

It is a trend being addressed at the NRA level brought on as a by product of Electronic Targets. In current regs and at the discretion of the match director, a person may have a surrogate target puller in case of physical handicap. As of April 1 of this year;), mathematically challenged persons may request a surrogate scorekeeper. Electronic score assist devices...such as a calculator are under review.

It's why I sign my name with an X. On every shot taken...

I suggest we add the University of Arizona's inclusiveness guidelines to the NRA rule book so these disputes can be handled properly:

“If a [shooter] feels hurt or offended by another [shooter]’s comment, the hurt [shooter] can say ‘ouch.’ In acknowledgment, the [shooter] who made the hurtful comment says ‘oops.’ If necessary, there can be further dialogue about this exchange.”

Personal scorer would be fine. Just do what we do in Golf and trade scorecards. --Jerry

I guess I dont understand how having a personal scorer is a an issue? I have not shot electronic targets, but I assume this guy just scored for his shooter? I know some use a personal puller in the pits and that makes sense to me if you want to have good pit service.
