Shooter had personal scorer

That reminds me of a guy that showed up wanting to shoot his M40A1 clone WITH a muzzle brake installed in the service rifle class during a mid-range prone match.

They are among us, and they whine, complain, expect special treatment, and vote!

Think the issue was he brought someone to sit there and score him on the Etarget but he did not score for the other shooters in the group. So it threw the rotation off as to who was prepping and scoring. He sat under his tent he brought with his fan and cooler while everyone else was in the blazing heat doing scoring duties for one another

We didn't make an issue just simply informed match director. Then the guy got mad

I guess I dont understand how having a personal scorer is a an issue? I have not shot electronic targets, but I assume this guy just scored for his shooter? I know some use a personal puller in the pits and that makes sense to me if you want to have good pit service.

Alex,

Sounds like it was within the rules (MD discretion?), but the method was a bit wanting, if I'm reading between the lines correctly.

I agree that the concept of a stand-in sounds good, especially for physically challenged individuals. Some slob always seems to screw it up for the rest of us, no matter the sport.

A call to the MD prior to the match would have been better for all involved, methinks.

Gee, I missed it... I was going to shoot Blanding on Sunday. But on Saturday I poured , finished, stripped and saw cut a 100 yard slab. After a longer and harder day work then I'm used too I was wore out. I hate missing a good shoot.

At the matches I have run in MN, you are welcome to bring or hire someone to do your pit duty. But they pull and score someone else's targets, not the shooter that hires them. I have been told "Oh he doesn't mind, he'll pull and score all the relays on my target number as a courtesy to the others on this target". Ah, yea right....

I get it. That would be a DQ in my book then.

Yes, it is. Incidents like this are few and far between. It's usually a great group who just want to shoot and have fun.
Arguing with armed people is not my idea of fun but whatever floats your boat and I abhor being around people who want "special" treatment or those that DEMAND special accommodations. Again, whatever floats your boat.

When first seeing post title,I swear....
The first thing that popped into my pea brain was this jaw dropping Hottie keeping his score. And then the lack of concentration it caused in other shooters.

Politeness is a key element to any gathering.

Any one that acted in that manor would be immedeatly disq. and be asked to leave the range soon quickley if he did not move quick I would personly help him leave.
I run and shoot thise matches for enjoyment and the fun of being around the shooters. any one that detracts from the enjoyment Should not be there
