Tumbling bullets. Gun or reloads?

Try a different bullet. If it still does it, it's probably a barrel problem, if not problem solved..
Also check for lots of copper fouling. I had factory Remington about 15 years ago that fouled so bad it would start tumbling in 15-20 rounds. But it also wouldn't shoot again until I spent a few hours with Sweets. But it would shoot 2" groups at 100 with perfect bullet silhouettes :p

Keystoning usually occurs when a bullet is understabilized (too heavy for twist). Overstabilizing could mean you're damaging the jackets but you're far more likely to do this with the jump vs. spinning them too fast. Try a thicker jacket.

I have good luck with Hornady 50gr Zombie Max in my Krieger 1:7.7 twist. Thick jackets. I called Hornady and asked them if it's possible to spin off the jackets and they chuckled and told me people are pushing these little guys at 4K no issues.

Are you experiencing any coppering of the barrel? I've been trying some loads with really light .308 bullets lately and they copper like crazy when I get them moving.

I have a 14" twist 6X47 Remington 40X BR. All you have to do is load a long pointy 85gr bullet in it and they will never hit anything.

Are they tumbling or just flyers. The only pic of a tumbler I saw was from the Dr. of tumblers pic. If they are flyers it's a whole different game.

So which 55 have you seen problems with? Also what makes them different?

Some cheap bullets that literally loose jackets on them that were made as "blasting bullets" for the AR-Crowd.

55gr FMJ-BT with cannelure made by a company I won't name as they no longer make or sell this bullet.

I recently loaded semi-hot round for a 22-250. I loaded 33gn of 4320 IMR on a50gr.Varmint Grenade HP 3529ft/sec. and the bullets are tumbling trough the target. don't know off hand the barrel twist but is a Browning X bolt bolt-action rifle. any ideas.

It would help if you told the type of bullet and the twist rate. I have a PhD in tumblie bullets ;)
