ACME Bullets

Often you read about poor customer service from one company or another so I wanted to post about how great my experience has been with ACME Bullets.

I started shooting lead cast bullets in my .357 Encores & Contender last fall & I've been trying a few different brands recently I purchased an M&P 9mm pro to try some competitions and see if I like that type of shooting. In looking for lead in different weights and point types for this gun found ACME Bullets and purchased some of their 115, 122, 124 & 135gr. RN or FP -NLG hi-tek coated lipstick bullets. Another cool thing about ACME Bullets is they offer 100 count boxes.

The bullets were received very quickly ( unlike another company I purchased 38 cal. Bullets from. And in cool little wooden boxes that can be reused in the future. This is the link to the 124gr. I purchased, that work the best in my son's Sig Match Elite. (I had shoulder surgery and haven't been able to test all of mine yet.)

I was having problems getting the loads to fit in my barrel and I called and was transfered to Andy, he gave me some pointers to try later that night & gave me his cell number to call him if I had any other issues. I still had issues so I called him a couple nights later and we talked for about 30 min. (In the end I was crimping too much) but Andy was very very knowledgeable and super helpful.

If anyone is in the market for lead cast bullets do yourself a favor and give ACME Bullets a try.

Enjoy

Lol John Fred I'm not sure but I think it would be funny if the used a coyote for their logo. I'm newER to lead but from my limited experience yes they are.

I just ordered a sample of 9mm, 38, and 45 from Acme this week......shipped next day and I'll have them by Saturday. If they work out, Acme will be my main source for cast coated lead for all my pistols.

Cdhbrad, what gr. Bullets did you order for the 9 & 38?
Do you shoot 38 spc. Or 357 mag?

147gr TC for 9mm, my favorite, and I will load them with 3.1gr of Bullseye. For the 38 Spl, the 158gr SWC, again my favorite weight. I use them in several S&W .357s, but only with .38 Spl brass, as I don't have any need to push them at .357 velocities for target practice only.

I also ordered some .45 in 200gr SWC without the lube groove to try too. I usually get all these styles from Missouri Bullet Co, but want to give Acme a try.

Lol that is the only weight of 9mm that I didn't order. If I have any issues finding a load with one of the other weights I purchased I'll have to try the 147.

I shoot the 38 caliber out of my 13" encore for adventure walk shoots. Ivery never tried 38spc out of it since we shoot out to 100yards at a couple of the shoots, I wasn't sure what kind of groups I'd get out of the 357 chamber. My son has a gp100 match champion and he said 38spc factory ammo is all over the place.

I have shot a lot of the 125gr TC too, here is the MBC version: http://missouribullet.com/details.php?prodId=237&category=20&secondary=&keywords= I use 3.5 or 3.6gr of Bullseye with bullet.

The 147 grain load is accurate too. Here is a photo of a group shot with some of my 147gr loads in a Bunker Arms custom 1911 from a rest at 25 yards:

Wile E. would make a great brand ambassador. Heck, I might find myself casting less often . . .

It may be very expensive getting permission to use Wile E. I don't know who owns the registered trademark

First off Ifor I was designing the logo I wouldn't use Wile E. I would create a new coyote that stands up like Wile E. But not a duplicate so it wouldnt infringe on copywrite laws but hopefully people would make the connection between the two.

When I found myself shooting more 3-gun matches, I pretty much had to switch to lead to afford the volume of fire. Shot a lot of lubed 9mm, but they smoked like blackpowder. Really like these coated bullets, not much higher price wise than cast, no smoke and a much cleaner pistol. I like the 147 for plate racks, and the 122TC for just about anything else. My .44 and .357 both love the heavy SWC's
