Which Trigger For Panda F-Class Action?

Hi Jim,

Can you expand on what you didn't like about the Flavio trigger? Also, why does the higher upward force on the cocking piece make a difference? Just curious because some of the best rimfire shooters in the country are using the Flavio triggers and I'm sure they wouldn't use them if they thought the B&A was better. Thanks.

Mike
I have both (Bix and Flavio). I think I would be splitting hairs between the two. The Bix is more readily available. I think Killough Shooting Sports is still the sole US importer of the FF trigger.

I have the exact same setup, b&a trigger, benchrite.com is the best customer service for trigger. Adjustable hanger is recommended.
I took a look at Benchrite, but they were out of stock at the moment. I ended up ordering the Bix'n Andy trigger and the adjustable trigger hanger, both from Bullet Central.

Thanks again for all the info and all the suggestions from everyone!

I just received my 3rd Bix'nAndy trigger from Roger (dedeadeye) at Keystone Shooter Supply (great guy, service and trigger).

I expect it will be a match winner like the other two.

Thanks for the recommendation AAA. I did order it on Monday from Bullet Central, and actually received it and the adjustable trigger hanger in the mail yesterday, The problem is I haven't received the action yet. It's on its way to my FFL, but I won't get it into my hands for a week after the FFL receives it.

I'm really looking forward to using the Bix'n Andy, once I receive all my components and have my gunsmith put the build together for me - thanks!

Surprised nobody mentioned the kelbly competition trigger for the kelbly action?
Brady, I purchased the action and the scope rings directly from Kelbly. I would've considered a Kelbly trigger, but I didn't know it exists. I find no reference to a Kelbly trigger on the Kelbly website. Furthermore, their custom FTR rifle package, which I considered purchasing, comes with Bix'n & Andy trigger.

You can spend over twice the cost of Jewell BR
for a B&A, but do you get twice the trigger???
I fail to see the gain for the investment, other
than bragging rights. LDS

It's seems you must of never pulled one. One blanked primer and you have the extra money back by not breaking like a Jewell not to mention what you lose if it's in a match. A Jewell can slam fire on closing. A BIX will not. You can bump the gun around and a BIX will not slam fire. Much less upward pressure on the cocking piece, so more consistent releases. Then there is the solid feel of no creep. These are all pluses. Matt

I have never seen a need to try one. If you have no action issues, and have adjusted the Jewell according to instructions,
your not going to get a slam fire. A Jewell when properly adjusted has NO creep. I have only blanked 2 primers in my life,
both my fault. First was a wrong primer in a 20 Tac. It broke my Rifle Basix. Second was in a 17 Remington, left shell box in the sun. Blanked a primer but my Jewell survived.
If I had over spent for a B&A I would likewise think they were the greatest. The beauty is in the eyes of the owner.
I'll just keep selling and using these old cheap antiquated JEWELLS. LDS

Like my friend Dean Breeden, 5 time IBS score shooter of the year and multiple world record holder said once he switched over to all B&A triggers, these people have no freakin clue whatsoever what their talking about when people think that a Jewell is equal to a B&A. Even one of my gunsmiths, Dwight Scott who needs no introduction said, I can work on a Jewell trigger and get it all smoothed up internally, but it will not even come close to a out of the box B&A trigger.

The shooters who are now winners w/ a B&A, were winners before, when they we using a Jewell. Nothing has changed except the price of their triggers. LDS

Dean has set more new records and has shot better when he installed the B&A triggers. Not to say that he didn't shoot well before with a Jewell, he is just more consistent and he feels that the triggers have helped out. Same with his GF Hillary. She's done so much better in the last 2 years than before. Like I said, not saying that just the trigger is doing it for both of them because it's just one piece in a system, but a Jewell exerts 4x more upward pressure on the cocking piece than a B&A and when released, it can upset the angle path of the firing pin which can translate to poorer accuracy. It's like comparing a BS annealer to a AMP machine. Yes a BS will do the job, but the AMP does a better more consistent job on cases. My bullet seating pressure is more uniform with the AMP machine vs propane machine and that's a fact. You want to keep using a Jewell, more power to ya. I don't spend all the money that I do to shoot a second rate trigger. I'd rather spend the lousy 200 bucks more knowing that I can't do better in the trigger department than to use an antiquated trigger like a Jewell. The B&A is just a better mousetrap and if you don't think so, you've never used one or you have blinders on.

One day those numbers will likely reverse themselves,
because of easily available information(its on the internet) In the competition world, a products fame is made by a winner. Its a case of follow the leader in what he or she is using. No one wants to take a chance of being left behind. Soon you have a field where 30% are using the same trigger, stock, scope or barrel, and out of that number you will have winners. Does this make these brands any better than brand X ? No it just means there is a high number of brand A products in use. Then the percentage of winners w/ brand A users, rises even higher.
Who questions the winners product list, as to being better than what they previously used. The lime light is on what they used to win today. It then becomes a case of, I just got to have it,
because it may give me the edge I need, or so you think.
This is what controls product demand in the competition shooting world,"WINNERS."
Remember it must be true, you read it on the internet. LDS

How many times do you think the lists are not right? Guys lie if they think they have an advantage. Some never change it and it stays on the computer. Until you shoot one you don't Know.

I always thought how could you improve on a Jewell. As soon as I pulled Roger Guyers (my bench rest student) the first time I knew. Matt

I seriously doubt Bart Sauter and Billy Stevens are going to lie about which trigger they use. One ounce is one ounce… no matter how you slice it. Keeping up with the Joneses can get expensive, but does give you bragging rights:D

Like I said before. People who have never used a B&A trigger in their life and then go on the internet and then try to convince everyone that their Jewell is just as good has a B&A have blinders on and their head up their ass. Plain and simple. And by the way, you set both triggers at the same weight, you can tell which is which.

I do know Tony Boyer switched. If he switched it was because he thought it was better. Tony has been known to buy a whole rifle if he thought the scope or trigger was better then another one. Just to get the trigger or scope. Matt
