7/300 WSM base to lands dimension?

I was wondering what your reamer spec is for the 7/300 WSM set up for Berger 180 hybrids. Right now I measure 2.400" from cartridge base to the rifling. This puts the boat tail body junction of the bullet 75 percent of the way down the neck. When I seat the bullet .030 off, it's getting pretty deep in the neck. What's your base to rifling distance for this cartridge? I set up my reamer to shoot either 180s or 168 class bullets but now wonder if I should have had the reamer with more feeebore specifically for the 180 hybrid.

Shouldn't be a big deal to have your chamber throated for a dummy round oal of your want

Right now I measure 2.400" from cartridge base to the rifling. This puts the boat tail body junction of the bullet 75 percent of the way down the neck.

This sounds about right if I was loading it.

As long as the boattail / body junction is not below the neck, all is good.

My 7/300 WSM (7/270 WSM) reamer has a 0.200” lead/ 0.2168” freebore. The case base to the end of the lead is 2.3168". The boat tail/body junction on a seated to touch Berger 180 Hybrid is just above the neck/shoulder junction in my Bartlein 5R barrels. If I had it to do over again I would probably make the lead a bit longer, say 0.220”. But it works quite well the way it is.
