Parallax and diopter setting on the scopes must of been off. Nothing a few turns of the knobs can't fix.

I am a Leupold fan and own 50 + of them now. But I did run into a guy at a gun show that that said they were the worst on the market for him. It has to do with the lens coating that they use. I guess that they just don`t work with some eyes.

Scopes need to have the ocular lens, the one you look through, adjusted for clarity. It is screwed in or out until the reticle is clear when viewed against a light background then locked by turning a ring. Aside from that you just may not like Leupold optics.

I'm in the middle with Leupold's some I can see clearly through others I find very dark looking through.

I used leupold for many years but I think they have fallen behind in both their reticles and their adjustment knobs. I much prefer Vortex now or Sightron.

Leupold has some serious competition in all categories, they need to stay up with their competitors. I'm sure they are aware of this as of late, they are improving fast. I agree that they have been passed up in their offerings.

Hope all remember the " The Chinese Leupold scopes ??
I saw them lot in the PNW more than likely right off the Boat in Washington State

I've always thought of Leupold as a nicer hunting-type scope, and since I don't hunt much I've not looked through one in some time. A year or so ago I was looking to scope a Ruger No 1 to take hunting, and looked at a mid-range Leupold. Very disappointing, it seemed dark and wouldn't get a crisp focus. The sales guy showed me a Nikon that looked much better, and less expensive to boot. To me the Leupold looks nicer on the outside, but the Nikon had a noticeably better view.

I like the VX-6 that i have.. From what i understand.. they only come with an option for the elevation to be either 1/4 moa or 1/8 moa, but the windage was only to be 1/4. The rep that i bought the scope from, i told him that 1/4 moa windage adjustments wasn't going to hack it, so he had it sent to the Leupold custom shop and had it converted to 1/8 moa.. i have not been told otherwise, so from what i know.. i am the only owner of a 1/8 moa elevation and windage VX-6 7-42X56 scope.. i really do like it a lot.

Yup. Gotta watch it, these days. Fakes are coming out of China. My wife dragged me on a trip to China, once. I bought some "Rolex" watches as gifts for friends. The hands fell off about a week after they put them on. Glad I only paid $10 a piece for them.

I bought Nikon for my rimfire after looking through it and the Leopold. Both were around the same price and I have been extremely pleased with it. I think the competition is really steep these days in optics. Untill you get to the price point of say a vx6, at the upper end of the scale there are a few companies that stand out head and shoulders above the rest.

If your talking about spending a few hundred bucks, there's some great choices out there not necessarily made in Germany or the USA.. I also depends on what your useing it on or for...

The last Leupold I tried was a little disappointing. However, my brother looked through it and he thought it was pretty good! I gave it to him. Now I'm shooting Vortex and Sightron's and happy, (for the moment).
