Years ago [early 70's] I bought an RCBS reloading kit with "everything" I would need to load ammo cept dies.. Bought some H4831, primers [ $.75 a box], and bullets, and had at it. I was fat and happy.. Then I decided I needed a hand held primer tool. Got one.. Aaaah life is good. I now have everything.

Har Har Har. everything? Since then I just keep spending and accumulating stuff I just have to have.. Measuring tools, Case trimmers [total of 3] shell holders, funnels, primer pocket uniformer and flash hole thingy.. Finally I retired and figured I bout had it covered.. But NOOOooo.. Now I am looking at an annealer, and a bore scope among other things. Then there's the handy dandy scope alignemnt tool and laser bore sighter.. And a buncha stuff I don't even know I have. Someone just slit my wrists!!!

The reason we all go "just a bit further" is because we know, or at least believe, someone else who we are competing against probably goes the extra mile. And IF we are going to remain competitive, we feel we need to "keep up with the Jonse's"! Everything contributes to consistent accuracy. It may be in the realm of "diminishing returns" but it is the cumulative effect of all that WE DEEM necessary to be competitive! And T-Rust me>>>you are the one we try and keep up with in a match! There is little doubt of your prowess in F-Open! So fear not>>>you have very little to worry about!

Kinda like golf. I have 13 putters in my garage and every one of them was going to make life better. I am still using the first putter I ever owned.

I remember trying to load .45 ACP with a handy dandy Lee loading set. All you needed was a hammer, bullets, powder and primers. Boy, did that suck or what?

Don't forget about the RCBS Chargemaster. You haven't lived until you've had an auto powder dispensing machine! lol.

Oh! And the Forster Coax and Redding T7 turret presses. Definite must haves.

Jokes aside, I know how you feel. I have 6 presses, 3 trimmers, 2 neck turning tools, 3 digital scales including the Chargemaster, a beam scale, all kinds of calipers, Concentricity gauges, micrometers, borescope, hand gun and riflescope sight tools, 1911 take down tools, AR15 armorer kit, and the list goes on and on and on. Thought all i ever needed was the RCBS kit when I started too. I'm with you, I don't think it ever ends either.....

Had a handy dandy myself , 357 mag. Turning out my own loads , it seemed just fine till I got a press .

Could be. I changed my handle once on request. BUT, a few years later it mysteriously changed back.. Maybe We can have a contest for my new handle.. And no I have never shot competition, or F class

I have a shed full . I still have some powder I got in the 60 Ty if I remember right it was $37. 50 for 50# . Larry

Of the things I've bought in exactly that same pursuit, the things that came out on top and turned out to be either well worth the money, kept up with their hype, or were just plain Good Things were the Square Deal, the Chargemaster, the T-7, the flip tray and the Dillon electronic scale. Those are the things I ride hard, put away wet, jerk out and ride again.

Zilla, one nice thing about buying the Best Stuff (Bench-Source Annealer and Hawkeye Borescope for instance) is that they'll do what you need to do, do it well and keep most of their value when you sell them.

Of course, never selling anything is how Hoarders get started.
