Barts different 6mm bullets

I am trying to settle on one bullet to shoot in my 13.5 twist 6PPC and really want to use a 68 BT,,I have shot a bunch of JDS 68 BT and several Berger Column Bullets and a few of Barts 68 FB,

is one of Barts 68 BT supposed to actually be head and shoulders above the others or are they just different and need to try them all and see which one your bbl likes best,,
I have a 1000 of the Ultra 68 BTs and 500 of the Ultimate 68 BTs,,and have really high hopes for both but expect one to outshoot the other,,

one more question on seat depth,,some people call jam different things than others,,the way I measure where my bullets are seated is from where the bullets ogive just touches the lands and anything longer than that is +.0 something and shorter than that is -.0 something,,

where is the best place to start with the 68 Ultra BTs from just touching?? I usually start +.025 from just touching and work back shorter in .005 to get a rough idea and then fine tune from there,,

the 68 JDS BT shot some really good groups for me here at home,,the best I had shot ever but the Berger Columns actually shot better scores for me on the 100/200 UBR targets,,but it seems I have topped out with the Bergers at around a 500 avg the last 5 matches and I was about out of bullets and finally found the Barts Bullets in stock at Bullet Central and if they shoot as good as advertised I will never let myself get anywhere close to being out again,,being my first year shooting matches and all I had no idea how many bullets I needed and how hard they were to come by in the middle of the summer,,

sorry for the long post,,but I really put a lot of stock in what the shooters on this board have to say on all things accuracy,,

thanx again eric

I haven't shot any of the new 68gr Dominator bt from Bart.
He doesn't make a bt in the ultra. I have shot thousand and thousand of the 68gr Ultimate bt.
I think .005 movement at a time is to much. You migh try .003 at a time.
As far as what jam is it really doesn't matter as long as you establish a point of reference. I personally load a dummy case with the bullet long and chamber it until it pushes back in the case this is my jam. Then I work from ther .003 at a time deeper into the case.
I think you will find Barts 68bt work very good in your 13.5 twist

I don't think you will be disappointed. I'm glad to hear you moving toward finding one bullet to work with. It's a pretty big deal to learn one bullet and how it behaves so you know when it's not doing like you know it should. Kinda hard to explain. Same for me anyway, with learning one powder I know what it should do when in tune.

I was getting to know the JDS 68BT very well but it seems I hit a flat spot and shooting the same scores for the last 4-5matches and want to try a different bullet to see if thats it,,I am still kinda new at this and dont really know how good it should actually shoot,,

when I started with my 6 BRDX I was tickled with .5 moa at 300 yards but after a couple months it was shooting .5 inches at 300

Big

Get the 68 bts!

I don't do this very often but I have offered up the opportunity for Big to bring his gun to my place see which bullet his gun likes.

Bart

Bart, you are a GREAT fellow to help Big out like that. Good on you.

And Mr. Big, I'm pretty sure you'll find one there that works. I haven't tried them in all of my PPC's yet, but the first one I tried the Dominators in was a home run and the Ultras were almost as good for that rifle. WOW. :D WD

I got 1,000 68 BTs in the mail yesterday and I am gonna get a load to shoot with for the last match at the steamplant,,

and Thanx again for that Grand Offer Bart I really hope I can get caught up with everything and get up and let you show me how you tune a load ,,

and JR dont try and BS me I have watched you shoot some really high scores in some really crazy conditions,,

I'd love to come shoot with you guys! But there are only so many matches I can go to! Just got back from the IBS 600 yards Nationals! Leave tomorrow to shoot Memphis and the Saturday you're talking about I'll be at a group match in St. Louis! I keep watching the UBR schedule and can't seem to make a date work.
