Rimfire scope advice

im looking for some advice on a new scope purchase for a Turbo 22 LR bench rifle I just acquired. I've narrowed down between the new NF 42x or the Leupold comp 35x or a 40x scope. Sole purpose is to use for dual benchrest shooting with this new rifle and my 6 PPC

James, I don't know if your going to shoot IR 50/50, but if you do a Nightforce, be careful of the weight, tough to make 10.5, 13.5 with a heavy scope. Most use a Weaver in the 10.5 class

I'll weigh the rifle tonight and see how much weight I can add and still make weight.

I just looked up scope weights the weaver is the lightest at 17 ozs the Leupold is next at 20.4 ozs and the NF is 20.7

So just in case I need see how much more weight I can get away with to make legal weight.

I have had very good luck with a Weaver T-36 on my Turbo. Also MUCH less expensive than other target scopes.

Well now I'm in a pickle. My rifle weighs 9.3 lbs and if I add the Leupold I'm at 10.575 # and if I add the NF I'm at 10.594 that sure leaves very little for error on different scales. Is there a lead way for error from one scale to the next?

I've had very good luck with the ones I have. WD

I also have a .22 Turbo and a 6ppc. I have the Nightforce fixed x42 and a Weaver T36. The nightforce is much clearer than the Weaver and would be my recommendation if you want only one scope. My experience of Weaver T36 is clarity can be different from one scope to another, so it's important to look at the specific scope you buy, which makes mail order difficult. In my experience Nightforce are the same from one scope to another.
If you can go for two scopes then try a Leupold on the ppc and a sightron S11 x36 Big sky on the Turbo. These two will not cost much more than the Nightforce. The Big sky will have to be second hand as its no longer a current model.

In my opinion ( not an expert) a sigthron 36 power is the best scope for the money on a bench rest gun. I use one for 50 to 300 yard competition center fire and rim fire. $430 anywhere

Thanks for input guys, I'm leaning heavily on the NF mainly due to reliability on the cross hairs not shifting like the Leupolds do and I already have 30mm rings that's that's roughly 80.00 saved.

I replaced a NF 12-42 with a vortex golden eagle on one of my rimfires, and am very happy with it so far. Being a variable is nice during set up. You can turn them down and it's easier to get on the right backer. This way you don't hear " someone's shooting my target!" Don't forget to remove all caps before weigh in, it helps a little.

I have a Leupold 6.5-20 VX3 with a 30mm tube that's a POS. Leupold will never get another dime from me. And yes, I tried (to no avail) to get them to warranty the scope.

Never had a problem with Leupold products at all in 20+ years. Sent back - twice a LPS scope thinking it was bad and ended up being mounting system. They were very patient with me.

I've only had 1 Leupold to fail me and that was mounted on my 50 BMG. That rifle litterly shook the internals completely apart. Beyond that I've never had any issues.

My fear is all the short range BR guys having issues with them in matches, that's why they have them frozen and use external adjustments.
I actually found a great deal on a demo NF 42x so I purchased that.
