.22 Ammo Testing with the Ruger 10/22

I have run some tests on my 22 Cz sporter...It really Likes CCI green tag..Shot some fine groups w Norma Tac & Norma Match..Note the Lubrication on those 2 brands is very different...Do your tests within brand & lube type..I used 5 shots to settle the barrel then 5 shots for record...I think the results for the Norma Brand would have been better If I had cleaned between switching brands & lube type..I tested at 100 yds. mike in ct

Looks like he had a few groups that were 1.75" or a little better. With a custom barrel, he probably could have got that down to 1.50".
jdRuger’s chambers suck. They are too wide and the jump is way far ‘til the bullet finally engages rifling, but both faults are amongst several other 10/22™ things that Randy at CPC can fix …

I recommend his trigger work on the 10/22s. I and several friends sent triggers to him and they're awesome AND reasonable.
The Wolf Match and SK Std are the same stuff and should shoot the same. If you still have the barrel band on it, take it off. That'll help some.
I would expect a bull barel to shoot better than the sporter.
It’ll have a Bentz or GM’s own design Bentz like chamber. I still have a GM 20” chrome moly bull and, like an idiot, allowed a stainless GM 17” Heavy Taper (3/4” at muzzle) to get away. The HT did and the bull still does shoot plenty well most any middling to better quality pokey paper killin’ stuff, high velocity, and even some hyper velocity stuff (CCI’s Velocitor). GM doesn’t hand lap the bore before chambering so demand less $$$.
