Just Ordered New Reamer

I tapered the neck, .233" to .234", .045" freebore, .3769" @ .200"

For skimmed Lapua brass.

I was told that .233 would work and .050 for the freebore, i was leaning towards .045 just to be safe, work into it you know......

Was .3769 Kiff`s recommendation?????

That was the number we hadn`t decided on..........

Phil.

I ordered from JGS, not Kiff. That dimension is min sammi. Has always done me proud and away from custom die needs.

DUHHHHH.............

My bad.......

Reading without comprehension is mud.........

I would go .234" as it was suggested on my thread. I was given loaded round dimension of Lapua brass at .231" to .232". My gold box brass is thinner, but scarce, maybe 20 pieces left, so gearing for thicker neck. Where does a guy find IMI 223 Rem brass?

Dunno,

I am going to get some .223 Lapua, that dosen`t have the neck turned, and get some measurements before i do anything.

I was told .233 is safe, but i want to know what the stuff that i`m going to use measures before i commit to a reamer......

Sounds like the info is close, hopefully it`s a screamer.....

Thats cool. Is this your first 20?

Aaron
It sure is Aaron. I don`t know if Harrells makes a brake with a .224" hole or not, but will be soon finding out. I wanna see hits. I go with a good Dr. to a catfish farm, and drive for him since he is a lefty. We shoot out the truck and blow up fish varmints..... It sure is fun.

Not sure about this one, how much do you expect the finished rifle to weigh????

My barrel is a Rem Varmint taper, so I figure at least 9 pounds. If I put it in my weighted Stock, it will come in at 12 pounds.

Good to know Joe, will shoot it first. That would be great not having a brake.
It does make a difference though. On my 20p the gun will come off target without a brake, with the tuner brake though, it moves less than 2" at 100yds during free recoil and a 8oz jewel.

Brake it is then, my braked 22BR-AI will move around 4 inches, using a grid target at 100 yds, this will be an improvement.

Measured a Harrells radial brake and it comes with a .250" hole, may call and see if they can accomodate me.

Great timing, spoke with Harrells this morning and he was about to be making brakes and agreed to accomodate my needs!!! Custom Harrells brake! Awesome folks to deal with!
