PAC NOR 3 groove barrels

Looking for reviews on PAC NOR's 3 groove barrels. Hoping to have them do a barrel for me and they are suggesting a 3 groove for a 6mm. Never had any 3 groove barrels myself.

I don't have a PacNor, but you'll never notice the difference in the number of grooves.

I had several 3 groove barrels from pac nor. I had them chambered in 6/250 AI shooting the 70g at 3750-3800, 11 twist, 28" finished unturned blanks. They copper fouled very little, even at that speed. The barrels were very easy to tune for the load and that is a characteristic of the 3 groove, as the talking heads proclaim.

I have been running 3 groove for all my rifle builds over the past few years. As mentioned above fouling is extremely minimal and cleanup is very easy. All of mine are 20 caliber, I run them fast with many pushing 4,000 fps plus on a regular basis and they still clean up easy. I have found a little better barrel life with the 3 groove as well a little extra velocity when compared to a 6 groove. That's just my experience and I am sure others experiences may vary.

I'd be interested in hearing how that rifling works for you. I'm using C3Poly rifling "true polygonal" rifling, quite happy with it after about 400 rounds now.

I will be testing a three groove 3R barrel from X caliber in 6 Dahser, very soon.

Go with what Chris wants to build you at Pac-Nor...You will be happy..He cuts some nice barrels...Mike in Ct

That's what I did after talking with them. They suggested 4 groove. It's all sealed up...Now I only have to wait until the first week of October!!

I have a Pac-nor 3 chambered in 17M4 that is very accurate and fouls very little.

I should add that Pac-Nor did the rebarreling also.

For varminting type use a 3 groove the throat/leade will definitely last longer than a 6 groove with narrow lands.

Doesn't stop firecracking the first 12" though.
