Re-chamber or sell

Yeah, how does that work ? I have a factory Remington 7 08 stainless barrel that looks like the maker had a bad case of parkinsons. Shoots three in a hole nearly every time. Have run a patch through it after cleaning my custom barrels, and it feels like ground glass in it !!

Most times the most scaled out barrels will shoot best. And the best looking ones shoot the worst. No way to even start to find a common denominator on lookin at a barrel.

Hey guys here it is, this is the best group that my 1:14 twist 6BR has shot for me...

Hornady 65gr V-max ~ seated .010 off the lands
32gr H4895
CCI 450

....all I have to do now is, prove it. It took shooting four 5 shot ladder groups, the first three groups were over 1.5" and then WOW a 0.608" group and I ran out of rounds. I sure wish I could post this photo...

I have never been a fan of any brand of 3 groove barrel...they have always been a bust for me... that being said...I would find some original "Gold Box" Lapua 6 BR brass and get away from the "Blue Box" brass..( Blus Box is inconsistent)..
my favorite load is 29 grains of H322 with a 66 grain Barts Ultra bullet...no preference on primers..

Good Luck

A 6BR that averages that high has a major malfunction. Time to rebarrel.

I agree, but with so much tied up in it, I don't think anyone wants to buy it, so I'd rather re-chamber it... :-\

I bought a PacNor pre chambered HV barrel for my 6.5-284 Savage 112 couple years ago. I went thru the same trial and error process we all know too well, and it would not shoot decent. Returned it to PacNor. It was back in a week. Packing slip said they found no defect with the barrel. I will never buy another PacNor.

PS -The factory Savage bbl in same caliber shot great for 1300 rounds.

Rechambering a bad barrel makes a shorter bad barrel. Try some br bullets before you give up

Dusty, I've tried almost every make of bullets on the market except the custom BR bullets, this is suppose to be a varmint gun not a Benchrest gun. So far the best results I was able to achieve was with Barnes match burners, and they were not consistent. IMO, I don't think its my reloading skills because everything else I reload will shoot under half MOA at 100 yards. I was thinking of trying some of those Tubb bullets to iron out any imperfections in the barrel. If that doesn't work, it will be in the garden! ::)

Tenring, I'm with you at this point. I have E.R.Shaw barrels that shoot way better than this one......
