ITAR Registration -- Plan on Paying your Gunsmith more...

I keep seeing you all reference posts by JRS, but I do not see them. This leads me to believe I must have blocked him long ago. Appears to have been a good choice.

I sent a message to my representative here in Idaho, but I would assume he's received many so mine may not get a response.

As most of you have said already, this is another, very pointed, attempt to seize the ability of the honest gun owner to defend themselves. As long as there are thousands of us out there doing the right thing with firearms there is no traction for the left to say all gun owners are bad. Remove the law abiding from the equation and the argument carries much more weight. I may only be 40, but I have seen enough in the short time I've been paying attention to understand the tactic.

There is a disturbing trend in America right now. It seems that there is a conscious effort to reach for "Social Justice" rather than "Justice". There is an eerie feeling that just as Hitler whipped Germany into a frenzy to remove the money hording Jews the left is whipping the lawless into a frenzy to remove the "privileged" whites. If we do not get Trump in November we are headed for civil war of a different sort. It won't be so much of battle lines and strategy as it will be defending your home and family when the mob comes for you. I hate to even put voice to this thought, but it's an inevitable conclusion following what has transpired over the last eight years. Bussing in paid protestors to the houses of bank CEO's and killing police in the streets is just the beginning. I may need to see the tailor for a new fitting of my tin foil hat, but that's how I see it progressing.

I beg of you, if you are reading this and have not sent a message to your elected representative, reach out now and let your voice be heard.

After running my own business for 20+ years this will have me closing my doors. The part that bothers me the most is what do I have to look forward to for work for myself, at 57 who wants to hire me. A part time minimum wage job with nothing for benefits? Being treated like a piece of shit by some snot nose punk that daddy gave a business to? Getting called everything but white and American for getting up at 4 AM every morning? Struggling even harder to make ends meet? Or do I join the many, the proud, and go on welfare, sucking from the government tit.

I find it amazing that anyone thinks this is genuinely about extending regulatory authority or taxes.

It is about gun control by controlling access to independent dealers, gunsmiths, etc....who are targeted by this action for elimination from the supply/economic activity chain.

Better hurry to sign up, the line is getting orders of magnitude longer, and you will be bumped further back as the illegal aliens and refugees get priority ( studies show they are guaranteed to favor jack asses over elephants)

Any idea how this will have an effect on gun smithing schools?

I was thinking that insurance regulations may just shut the gunsmithing schools down.

Yavapai College Department of Gunsmithing will be up and running this Fall term.

Schools teaching a Gunsmithing curriculum have to follow the same rules as the rest of the industry. There are no exceptions. They get inspected just like any other store front or shop and have to have the same compliance as all.

Regards.

What I find funny is, since I first heard about this on Saturday the NRA hasn't called me 3 times a day wanting money. Whats up with that. Also instead of calling for me to "upgrade my membership" why did they not use this to their advantage, I mean its been around for 5 years.

Why do I get the feeling this will just turn law abiding honest people into criminals and create another black market industry?
The honest ones will stop. The smart ones will also . The outhers that was smart already had it . The part that scare me is when you get the license the day you get it doesn't cover what you done previously . No way is this right . Larry

I spoke with the BATFE this morning and they said " they don't know anything about the stipulations and or what the state department is going to do with it"

This is just another money squeeze to see how bad you
want to stay in business. If you can pay, you can stay.
Just another way to stifle the economy of the gun industry,
and take more of your money to give away to some welfare bum
who has no intention of working. Everything Obama does
comes at the expense of the working public.
Trump cant get in office quick enough to suit me. LDS
