SteveOak I don't know what I'd do without guys like you to take care of me. Are you sure 200 will do it???
Most are gonna turn anyway, so measuring loaded brass out of the box is pointless... By a 100 or 2 and have at what you will... I do believe brass thickness has been stated more then once...

Got my brass today. Just wondering if anybody else found any cases with indentations like these on the shoulders? Do I just toss these out?

Killshot's measurement would say that a .272 neck would be about perfect? Or am I missing something?
Wondering about JGS and just how long it would take them to make one for it?
Should we anneal these cases first, or after first firing?
That makes sense. I thought I was the only one that hated neck turning.I think Russ, Robert, Me, etc are looking for is an average thickness based on what is going into people's hands now, over a wide range of shooters. One or two guys is too small a sample to go by. No way I would go by samples or test cases.
I hope I don't have to order another reamer (starting the wait all over again) but it's better than neck turning....
Just a heads up.
We have had a couple of calls where the cases were too tight in the rim/base area to fit into the standard shell holder.
1) We have spoken to Redding and they are making a special batch of No. 1 shell holders that are plus .004" in the slot and we should be getting them by the end of next week.
2) We have also ordered a special cutter (due to arrive tomorrow) and will program our CNC machine so we can skim off a few thou from the existing shell holders. That way we can satisfy some of the people that need them in a hurry in case these cases do not fit their shell holders. Those should be available for purchase by the end of the week.
Good move LarryI plan on annealing after first firing

I have seen some wild number thrown around here but .008 loaded round clearance on a 6mm. is totally ridiculous, on a larger caliber maybe but you will pay the price for over working the neck. .0015 to .002 is fine on a dasher and with over a 100 firings per case. I see no reason to change, if i did the max. would be .003. So talk 6mm not .284 and 30 cal. clearance.
This is a wonderful thing Shiraz has done to save the fire forming issue, i would rather trim and turn any day. The long neck is not a issue, but to some they would like to move the shoulder forward and get a little more capacity. With the 6x47 out there i don't see moving the shoulder ahead a major improvement when you can get 3100 from the Dasher case as is. Myself i would like to get back what Lapua took away, the 1.570 chamber……. James O'Hara
