With that in mind , we don't need to ethically .
...when I mowed pastures I shot over 150 feral hogs and only had to pull 20 or so off the fields all I tryed to do was gut shoot them and they would run off field and die .

Don't get too caught up with the energy, or speed, needed to kill. My 540 grain arrows zipping through the air at roughly 200+ fps produce 56-58 ft. lbs. of energy. That small amount of energy can, will, and has, killed the largest and toughest animals on earth.
This is classic , never mind that a wounded hog is even more dangerous to anyone who happens to be nearby.when I mowed pastures I shot over 150 feral hogs and only had to pull 20 or so off the fields all I tryed to do was gut shoot them and they would run off field and die . 233 was a perfect gun Larry
Both have to penetrate, and cause loss of blood/oxygen. Sectional density plays a major role.Apples to oranges.
Bullets and broadheads kill in different ways.
There is no one nearby . We don't shoot them for safety . They are killed so we can have feed for the cattle . We don't dare to let others on the property they don't know the difference of a cow or a hog . Dam shame isn't it. Why not put forth the effort for a clean kill, and donate the meat to a local organization to feed those less fortunate than you, rather than letting it rot? There is no one nearby . When you kill one you must get it out of the field or it brings coyotes . They and cattle don't mix . To care for a hog would take 3 hours . Let's say a hundred hogs would be 300 hours Time wise that I would have to spend 7 weeks taking care of hogs . So tell me would you shoot the to run off or mow weeds so your cattle can eat and you can make a living. Sorry but I do not believe in wounding game to go off to die. Shoot to kill or find other means to fix the problem. We don't have hogs here (unfortunately) and I grew up on a large farm so I do know all about feeding and taking care of livestock. I have heard how bad the hogs destroy farm land but there has to be a smarter way!Groundhogs are rodents so I feel any they die doesn't mattered feral hogs are the same. Without shooting them they will multiply to Numbers that they cause sever crop and property damage. With that in mind , we don't need to ethically . But also as hunter we don't need to show picture of them . When we do that we loose . If you show it to other hunters is cool one tree huger can take that right away, when I mowed pastures I shot over 150 feral hogs and only had to pull 20 or so off the fields all I tryed to do was gut shoot them and they would run off field and die . 233 was a perfect gun Larry
I guess we could think like many do . We could post signs NO HOGS ALLOWED .Sorry but I do not believe in wounding game to go off to die. Shoot to kill or find other means to fix the problem.
