Whats the smalleat centerfire round we can reasonably get,or reasonably make wildcat wise here in the US?

1.8mm (0.07 cal) and 2.7mm (0.10) cal kolibri pistols. Cartridges were the size of the point of a lead #2 pencil, and they were true centerfires, with separate primers, like a 9mmx19.

I think Barnes use to make 14 cal bullets I shot one based on a 45acp it was a friends gun, like shooting a pencil lead but it would shoot 3 shots in 1/2 at 100

For me, it's the smaller cased .224 stuff (Hornet, Fireball, etc).

Otherwise, the 17 cal stuff, as you can still find reloading components, cleaning equipment, and other related "specialty" stuff to support shooting them without too much trouble.

Below that, the term "reasonable" comes into play, and eliminates them in my mind.

My first Naugha rifle was a 378 Wby case necked down to the old 78 RPM phonograph needle. I had to go to a 14x221 FB when I ran out of phonograph needles.

Sub-calibers : The law of diminishing returns applies here. IME the smaller the bore diameter the more finicky to fouling.
